To anyone who celebrates this, Happy Winter Solstice and Io Saturnalia.

It's not as strange as many people think it is, I know quite a few modern day pagan's that celebrate this. And for those who subscribe to a different set of beliefs...winter has now officially begun for us in the northern hemisphere. So break out the parkas and go play in the snow.

It's not that we are far north. It's that you are really far west in the time zone. Although the sun does set a little earlier here because it goes behind some mountains before it really sets.

Uh-oh, you took Duke’s annual thread, you naughty pagan…

Happy winter solstice (the first winter holiday) everybody! Now make it go away – I’m too 🤬-🤬 :censored:ing cold.

I'm thinking of going to Alaska at both solstices, just to see what it's like :).

You're a few hours too early, but who cares. [/nitpicking]
Actually, I'm right on time. You Californians are spoiled :p.

Or summer solstice in some places.

Sun rises just before 6am and sets about 9pm here.

Interesting, I had an inkling to go out and drive a Solstice today...

Happy Solstice Day!

...Well, I guess I'm late now...

Longest day of the year, and the weather was nice.

Boy did I take full advantage of it. I rode until the sun went down, which was obviously slightly later than usual. :D
