Hard Drive Issues (External)

Post here which External Hard Drives do and do not work with the PS3.

Also does the hard drive have to be formatted in FAT32 still or do we have NTFS support now?

WD Passport 250gig is what i use. works well. i believe we still have to keep fat32 for it to go with the ps3
 
FAT32 and USB 2.0 is all you need. If you roll your own, then avoid the really really cheap enclosures: the drive will easily outlast the enclosure.

The biggest issue for me was figuring out why the PS3 wouldn't see my FAT32 formatted drive. It turned out Apple in its infinite wisdom kept partitioning my drive with Apple Partition Map instead of the tried and true Master Boot Record. :ouch:
 
I wonder when, if ever Sony will introduce NTFS, I know its a Microsoft owned format but it would make life so much easier for loads.
