2008 vehicles in Suzuka should run a 1:51-1:53, but I tried and tried and tried I can barely run a 1:55 in a stock Nismo GTR'08 with racing softs & oil change, which really is slow even in 2010. I'm just wondering do you guys beat 1:51 with ease in a stock GT500 car, or do you find it difficult?

Don't forget that your fuel weighs around 75kg with a full tank. Are you on a low tank when you run the 1:55s?

In practice mode so a full tank...if the tank were a factor then it'll be pretty realistic to run 1:55 as with weight handicap it did run such time IRL.

Unfortunately there's no option to start with anything other than a full tank... so you'll have to do 60 laps and take on no fuel during your stops.

Do it in a lobby on your own rather than in Practice - the handling's more realistic and you'll be able to burn off the fuel.

In practice fuel's weight = 0
Besides the physics online is different and the roads are more slippery.

which is good... the back end comes around more rather than the slightly numb-feeling Practice griplevels.

Any evidence for practice fuel weight being 0?

Nope they are right, I've been in room where japanese runs 1.51 - 1.52 time with NSX or GTR's.
It's not easy tho, by best is mid 1.53 atm and I can't produce average lap time, the setup I used for doing that time only let me do 2-3 laps at full speed, then my rear tyre are blown. I suppose you have to not use abs too. I still think no abs gives you slighty more acceleration.

I cant get close to the times either but lets not forget those guys who drive them are pros. And the arta NSX had a hot lap of 1:49 can remeber which season though.

I tried this on Fuji... 2010 best super lap - 1:33.3 (Lexus)
My best lap in a Lexus 1:35.4 with soft tyres and good suspension setting...

It's hard as hell...

Just tried in Nismo Z, 1:33 seems quite achievable to me.
But yeah SC430 should have better results in Fuji anyway...it's their home track (well sort of).

I realised that Nissan's especially from 2006 are much faster than 2008 cars but that's regulation for you...

I suppose 1:33.5 is possible but with good setting and faultless driving... To be honest I am suprised that Lexus'es from 2008 are much slower than GT'R's and Honda's as this shouldn't be the case as they won the team championship in 2008 and both championships in 2009 (Petronas TOM'S SC430 '08)

And generally 2006 cars were faster than those in 2008... That's why when in 2007 Honda's was preety much unbeatable, they came in 2008 and failed big time...

Why are you so surprised your times are different? They are fully trained professional drivers, you're just a regular guy playing a Playstation game, it's bound to differ.

Getting times on the playstation is easier due to the driver not worried about dieing.👍

NSXs have never had durability in mind...in 2007 Takata Dome (the green livery one in game) had 5 pole positions. For heavens sake 5!!!! There are only like 9 races the whole year. And they only won 1 of them. Whereas you never see Nissan Zs or GT-Rs had such problems --- gearbox failed in the formation lap. Oh c'mon...ARTA grabbed like 3 titles. With weight handicap regulations bearing in mind, you know how beastial NSXs were comparing to other vehicles.

I don't know why but it's always the Tom's getting the luck in the end? Like they could still pull out a win even if they caught a fire at the pit. Yuji Tachikawa is obviously faster than Juichi Wakisaka & Andre Lotterer(who's only got a rocket start really), but in 2007&2009 his vehicles just kept on DNF, and when it's not wrecked it caused others to wreck & received drivethroughs... Same went for 08's Daisuke Ito's Eneos SC, never on form.

Back to the game I just managed a clean 1:33.892 in a Raybrig NSX in Fuji F. Seems like a limit for my rough/non-existant skills...

I'm a TOM's fan so I was happy with them winning :sly:
I'm not sure about the new Honda HSV-010 though, this story about 'it was suppose to go into production' just doesn't cut it for me... nice joke :yuck:

I suppose they didn't even sketch a road car for the HSV... I don't think it's fair because Lexus uses the SC430, Nissan uses the GT-R they have to stick with the same body types, to certain extent but still, whereas Honda just came up with a race car... and they could create it so it's great on the race track...

However it sounds astonishing... I tend to listen to the noise with my earphones on... 👍

It HAS to go through!!!Before the end of the world. Otherwise those VTEC manias would go crazy...like Toyota saying yeah the LFA is a joke, scrap that..oh sorry about that we now have a new facelift to the Supra called Supra RZII!!...I'm sure it'll still please a lot of people though.
And since you're a Tom's fan...did you find out the Castrol's Tom Supra '97 (the premium one) has more downforce than any other JGTC/Super GT car?? I did a 1:58 in Suzuka, 8 seconds faster than its laptime IRL......

I find it kinda old... Still haven't purchased it... However I own over 20 LFA's  and two TOM'S Lexus'es... I might buy it however...

I know Honda needs to be in Super GT but they should atleast create a limited run of HSV-010's for the road...

Btw when is LFA coming into Super GT? Some people made animations already and it looks amazing...

The Super GT cars cost more than the stock LFA anyway so I don't see why it shouldn't be in Super GT soon...

Believe it or not, the Castrol Tom's Supra '97 is in high downforce trim. Hence the high downforce. The rear wing with the small winglets on the end plates are the giveaway.

Unfortunately for myself I haven't had a chance to play much recently but I'll be having a shot at some time trials with these cars soon.

Haha that is such a real makeup livery.
You don't have to buy the Castrol Tom's 97 Supra, you can win it at some point...which I cannot remember. But I'm guessing that since you're B-Spec Lev 21 and still have not touched the car it must be the Super GT B-Spec event where you can yet to enter.

Toyota hasn't revealed its lineup for the new season (one month away now), and Honda & Nissan all made their first appearance with the new driver roster. Benoit Treluyer & Satoshi Motoyama still there. Sigh.
I'm quite pessimistic --- in fact I'm 90% sure that LFA will NOT be there in the forthcoming season, as I've recently seen pictures of Andre Lotterer testing Lexus's new car and it's still a SC430 quite obviously.

are the SC430s any good? i wanted to pick up the Denso car but i wanna know if i should save the million dollars

Yeah when there was a Super GT party kind of... with all the cars and drivers... Lexus had scheduled test with all it's teams so for sure SC430 will be racing next year but LFA is a perfect example for a Super GT car...

If that would happen hopefully it will sound at least as half as good as a normal LFA... :nervous:

they're preety good, nice balance - hard to see out of due to the roll cage next to the drivers eyes 👎

For fuji times again I've been in room with japanese running 1.33 1.32 even so yeah it's doable too not by anybody I guess and needs the right settings.

As for the LFA I've seen a BM vids of the racing version of it where they couldnt get higher than 7.500rpm and they said it was made to compete in LeMans type of races. Not sure if it will come to SuperGT.

Official lineup revealed! No single LFA.
Juichi Wakisaka has gone to KRAFT, leaving the #1 driver of Petronas Tom's to Andre Lotterer. Prepare to see even more rocket starts! Also, Bjorn Wirdheim is no more with Toyota camp --- now gone to Kondo--- I'm so happy to see that, really isn't the most capable guy out in the track.
WedsSport now competing in GT500! Looking forward to their livery on SC430. Seiji Ara & Tatsuya Kataoka...not a strong pair. Veteran Seiji Ara left Super GT and went to FIA GT1 last year, result was rather bad. And Kataoka, don't know much about him.

Hope Toyota/Lexus can give us a close battle this season!
