Lately I was thinking about gameplay in GT5 and found crazy idea to implement some sort of 'hardcore mode' like in Diablo 2 :) It should be separate GT Life with multiplayer with these rules:
- no 'give' cars from winning events
- real price for cars
- not sure about event prizes - maybe slightly lower
- damage in race - light dmg could be repaired in boxes, medium dmg can be repaired but takes more of time, heavy dmg - inability to continue racing (everything for credits)
- damage after race - light and medium dmg stays and you must repair the car and pay for it, heavy dmg even after repairing affect for future car handling and from some point prevents from repairing car (maybe at 70% dmg car should be marked as crashed and not possible to repair at all)
- changing tires and fuel refill should be paid during the race
- cash&ban (timed) penalties for making crashes during the race
- possibility to sell a car online with own price (this should be in normal GT aswell)

I think that mode like this can bring in GT some sort or risk and hazard when racing and people should began to drive more carefully. So please let me know what you think about this idea (maybe your own proposals?) :)

The hardcore mode for GT5 is called PC SIMS. No point having a "Hardcore" mode when 95% people who got the game can't deal with it.

Yeah seriously, all this reward, money, prizes thing doesn't exist in most PC racing sims. Just racing and driving, your reward comes from the getting better at it....

People who complained about games like GT being to "dry" and "uninteresting" will be dead playing most PC racing games. Thats the reason why Codemaster and such tries to add "drama" in their racing game....while screwing the actual driving part...
