Hardware problems with GT4

well after 6 hours+ of playtime I went into the Mazda RE race and it happened 70% of the time. Maybe my PS2 is overheating?
Im gonna get a vertical stand for it, maybe that'll help

PSX ay ? the big white thing they sell in Japan ? interesting, i like those. I can't afford it though . My PS2 also experiences what looks to me like earth tremors before a race, especially at Leguna Seca as the camera pans across the stands then to the cars, the whole screen will shake and the resolution becomes horrible. I have also noticed it almost every time the Nurburging before the start of a race. I have an NTSC PS2 with a DUO2SE Modchip. laterz-

I get the "shakes" on my new slim NTSC-J PS2 with GT4. Mostly in the city courses with all the cars in the screen or at the rolling starts on complex modeled courses with all 6 cars in frame and moving. Seems to overwhelm the graphics chip just a touch.....

It comes in, shakes for 1-3secs and goes away. All the time the game is still playable. Not a big deal, but if they fixed it it wouldn't bother me either.

tell me, does this happen on a regular V1-6 Ps2?

the shakes is normal...
its just the bottleneck of the PS2 hardware.

I get the "shakes" in the used cars list A and B sometimes Is anyone getting this too?

With all the talk about the screen tearing. I'm not sure wether to buy the slim it anymore. I havent got GT4 yet but that is part of the bundle i'm hoping to buy. Are the problems noticable and really annoying? And is it worth the bundle of: GT4, Slim ps2, thpsu2 and a steering wheel for £150? Thanks.

im having no problems with my 3 year old PS2. i cleaned it this week though so you might just need to give it a bit of a clean
