The reason for my accounts was mainly one, try to get away from the problem. It just didn't work out the way it could've, and should've.

Normal Rumble Strip GTP life is a complete disaster, because the moderators refuse to ban people except on conditions stated in the AUP. What ever happened to 'a general detriment to the forums'? I know there's about six members that most of the population, including the moderators, want out. Why can't we just toss them? Put it to a vote in the mod forum, then ban them for life. Then we can go back to a normal GTP life.

Well, you know, it's to the point we just might do that. I'm ready to. The reason we don't do more summary banning is that we do try to keep the forums as open and welcoming as possible. It's a fine line between "genetic engineering" of the population and being outright fascists.

I'd also like to say that I strongly considered reopening your thread, but did not want to second-guess a fellow moderator.

How about a warning system, with temporary banning? You say or do something stupid, or derail a thread from its topic on more than one occasion, you get a 24 hour ban from the site. You repeat the offense, you're gone for, say, 48 hours. 3rd time's a charm, you're out of here. I've seen similar systems elsewhere, and it seems to work pretty good at keeping threads on topic, and keeping "ass-clownery" to a minimum.

That's just a suggestion, though. You guys have been doing a pretty good job lately, IMO.

Agreed - and please don't take my challenges here as a question of the moderators' ability to carry out their duties. My thread, for instance, needed something - I'm simply questioning why it had to be a thread closure, which is a detriment to anybody who wanted to post there, when it could've used the act of simply deleting some of the worst offenders' posts.

). I mean, it was quite funny for a while there - and Duke has admitted that, and told me that's why the moderators left it open so long - but then it just degraded into a slanging match. These people push, and push, and push, and then wonder why they get banned. I knew when to stop; I've not been stirring up the moderators for a while now, and I almost went too far, which brought a bit of sense back to me. It's just a shame that these others didn't know when to stop; Cobraboy and km were good people when they weren't pissing everybody off.

I hope everyone learns a lesson from this and brings a bit of sense back into the ****house which has been the Rumble Strip as of late, and start talking civilly [sp?] to each other again.

Yes.. That thread was funny. And Kudos to Duke (And the rest of you Modsters) for LEAVING it open when it was in the right place and not harming neither the AUP or the TOS.. And as far as I recall, it was neither ME nor Pringles that were doing any of the namecalling. Kids don't have enough respect these days. Back in my day when you got out of line you got beat, now we have all these laws about child abuse, and kids think that their opinions really matter now. I say beat them senseless, that'll learn 'em a thing or two about respect.

So send me to their house, I'll teach them a thing or two, or ten. It all depends on how mouthy they get.

i think the moral of this thread is 'behave'....else leave or be booted...

fair enough in my book....

but the 'sin bin' idea sounds good...offenders could be temporarily banned....but on a downside...when you ban someone, you let them back to have a second chance and if they have a chip on thier shoulder about being banned in the first instance....they could mess up the forums pretty bad since the mods dont delete posts....abuse could be hurled in all directions for all to see....

The thing is, every account gets delt with seperately. Some banned members have come back with new accounts and have proven to be contributing members after all.

Of course, if you're Allah Almighty or act like him. You can suck it, and you will be delt with individually as opposed to per account.
