The Nurburgring Nordschleife is linked to the new Nurburgring at the final turn of the track. I was wondering has anyone who played the demo driven over to the barrier to see if the track is modeled on the other side.

In GT4 you could see the new circuit but it was obvious it was just a rough version.

I have a feeling that the new Nurburgring could be in the game, so it would be likely that the track across the barrier would at least 'appear' or 'look' drivable.

How awesome would it be to get to drive the two full tracks linked together. Nick Heidfeld did this in an F1 car a while back.

The extra track is nothing new. Its the F1 circuit for the German GP. But on GTR for the PC you can play on both tracks at once. Start of on the GP circuit and it goes on the Nordschleife and then ends back on the GP circuit.

I suspect both could be included.

I think it's quite likely we will see both as seperate circuits and a version with them both linked (As Kaz drove on this in real life, i presume he would want it to be included, if only to test his ingame laptimes against his real).

Is that taxi ring a bridge that goes over the long straight. If so, it will look cool.

It's just marking the location of the access road to the nordschleife; which is where the ring taxi station & a restaurant are.

GP track is all but confirmed as it (the pits and grand stands) was spotted in a GT PSP trailer (using clear GT5 assets). If the GP track was modelled you can bet the 24hr enduro combination version would be available for use.

Thats true, most of the big races at the ring use the GP track as well, it offers proper pits and grand stands.

What would be interesting is if GT were to model the old sudschleife, they modelled the historical layouts of Fuji, it would be awesome to race on the Original whole Nürburgring circuit - something like 17 miles IIRC

I think 14 for FM3 lol, the reason is to make it "EASIER" for the casual players.. what gives Turn10? lol!

But yeah I would love the addition

Where you get 70%? I think they would show it off by now. There are better circuits out there that PD will hide away until last minute

PD hide everything and you cant get much better than any F1 track IMO.

Haha just a personal opinion...
Thought there was a discussion about the long version of the track after the first pics of the corvette zr-1 and the pitlane being too long for the nordschleife?

It doesn't guarantee anything but I noticed that the selection screen on the CES demo shows the full track as the location so hopefully it will be included.

To those who are complaining about the small improvement in graphics-Don't forget the scenery around the Nurburgring is fairly plain and dull so it is hard to see a huge improvement in graphical quality.

That's nothing but the logo of the track venue.
As others have said, a PSP trailer had footage of the Nürburgring GP grand stands, obviously "filmed" in GT5. So it's all but confirmed.

Anyway, good request though.

Both tracks are up there in my top 10 so it will be awesome if we can drive both of them as one lap :D

If this 20+ locations does mean tracks after all (which I'm still crossing my fingers that it is not :dunce:) Then it's almost certain that there would be at least 3 variations of the 'Ring. The GP circuit, Nordschleife and the 24h version which consists of both.

If there are only 20 tracks, only 3 spots are left for these:

  1. Grand Valley
  2. Midfield
  3. Deep Forest
  4. Trial Mountain
  5. Autumn Ring
  6. Apricot Hill
  7. New York
  8. Seoul
  9. Hong Kong
  10. Seattle
  11. Paris
  12. Amalfi
  13. Assisi / Aria
  14. Monaco
  15. Cathedral Rocks & El Capitan
  16. Grand Canyon
  17. Chamonix
  18. Laguna Seca
  19. Infineon
  20. Motegi
  21. Tahiti
  22. Ricardo Tormo / Valencia

A lot of those are very popular. Not too mention a lot of work went into them.

Also, don't count on these being in:

  1. Zolder
  2. Shanghai
  3. Imola
  4. Monza
  5. Hockenheimring
  6. Magny-Cours
  7. Estoril
  8. Brands Hatch
  9. Silverstone

Finally, be happy with only 1 dirt and 2 NASCAR tracks, 1 shared with IndyCar.
Tracks confirmed so far...

  1. Eiger
  2. London
  3. High Speed Ring
  4. Fuji
  5. Suzuka
  6. Daytona
  7. Nürburgring
  8. Indianapolis
  9. Tokyo R246 (various demos)
  10. Le Mans (various demos)
  11. Tsukuba (E3 teaser)
  12. Top Gear (confirmed through BBC, seen in E3 teaser)
  13. Tuscany (E3 trailer, 458 video)
  14. Madrid (AGS trailer)
  15. Rome (AGS trailer)
  16. Stelvio Pass (FT86 video)
  17. Spa-Francorchamps (as good as confirmed)

The "Ring Taxi" isn't a bridge, it's a program by BMW that is quite literally a "Taxi". Although the Taxi is a modified M5 driven by a proffessional race driver (I <3 Sabine Schmitz ) and it takes you around the Nordschleife.

Anyway, It's a good request. Let's hope someone listens. Also, as someone already said, the GP Grandstands appeared on GTPSP so it's somewhat possible to get it in GT5. Imagine driving in that circuit...it should take around ten minutes on the McLaren F1 :scared:.

@ Goldrusher

Indeed, when I first heard "20 Locations" I automatically assumed it meant 20 regions of the world or scenery. Didn't Kaz make light of this controversy late last year?

Guys, don't confuse 20 odd with exactley 20. Ofcourse you won't be dissapointed if you only expect 20, but we could have 21, 25 or 29 actual unique tracks. It's less likely to be in the high 20's though.

Lots of interesting courses, but I have a few quibbles. Why do they keep inserting Tsukuba into every racing game, that course is just too short and has little places to pass cleanly. No game releases without Laguna Seca, lol. I'm surprised that PD hasn't included Bathurst in GT as yet, the cutting out of courses is a no no, I may not like Tsukuba to race on but it works well for drifting. PD should strive for the next few years to add more courses as DLC. So many exciting race courses out there that should be included. But kudos to PD, their fictitious courses are very good. Missing Red Rock Valley since GT2, sniff.

Tsukuba is great for tight races and a very good track for lower to mid powered cars imo. It's great on RFactor racing the VW Lupo Cup cars with 35 other cars on the track with you. Get's a bit manic at thimes :D.

I forgot about all the lower powered cars in GT, it's been a while. Still though, why do they remove courses from the game at all? Unless it's a liscencing issue, which fictitious tracks do not have, they should all be kept from title to title. i want my Grindelwald back, SS Route 5 and 11 and the ever so lovely Red Rock Valley.

I'm betting on NY being in there, just for the sake of the NASCAR thing, i remember they made a hoopla about driving NASCAR Cup cars through midtown Manhattan.

With every generation jump they have to model the tracks all over again, or upscale the old ones and then spend a hell of a lot of time bringing them upto scratch but having a track that's inferior to a newly modelled one. It's bascially, a lot of work.

I just watched 'Ring laps on both GT5 and Forza 3 to compare and took these screenshots of the same corner in both games.

If they are both replicas of the same track, shouldn't they look the same?

I've never been to the track myself, but does anyone know which is more true to life?
