Has anyone checked to see if the new Nurburgring track is modeled..

I insist, those pictures still aren't a very solid proof. GT is known for modelling details, and GT5 is bringing that to the next level so I see no reason why they aren't there just for being part of the backdrop. It would be amazing to get the FULL Nurburgring though 👍.

No, those pictures are not very solid evidence, however 90% of all 150 000 post in this forum are just about assumptions just as these; since no one actually have any solid proof. I maintain my belief that it will be in the game
as the GP track seems to be pretty well modelled even for PD standards :)

I've merged the two Nurburgring threads together as they overlap in many ways.

From my own experience, having driven the 'ring, the GT4 model is very accurate and certainly parts of the track are as narrow as they seem in the game.

All the bumps were already in GT4, I spent many months on that track, mate. It was only track in the game which had so detailed surface.

I played the Nurburgring last week in GT4 to compare it with the video of GT5 and it's not hard to drive around, but you can see how everybody has trouble driving on the semi straights in the GT5 demo (easy in GT4).

So i was talking about the minor bumps in the road, i agree that the overall detail of the ring made it the best track of GT4. But with a steeringwheel you will feel the difference on the Gt5 version compared to GT4. In the video below they explain the difference between GT5 and GT4.

Regarding the Width question.. I played GT4 a lot before my visit to the ring (on motorcycle). When I got there it was like driving on a three lane motorway in places.. GT4 version feels so narrow in comparison to the actual location. Driving the actual ring did make me realise why I found certain areas difficult in GT4 (I nearly binned it at these locations :) ) the other things that become obvious is that GT4 doesn't imo show the subtle gradient changes that are at the ring.. and the lack of trees makes a lot more corners feel more open.. the ring was like driving down a tobogan run in some areas (run down to adneau bridge ). Right now I'm playing that other game FM3 whilst sony etc sort out the release date for GT5 and the ring isn't so bad..in fact I'd say it's actually fairly close! Theres a laser scanned version of the ring in the PC race evolution. Thats good, but the lack of accurate trees removes the initial "if I get this wrong it's gonna hurt" feeling that you get at the ring.. someone else mentioned that the ring is just trees and fairly dull.. in actual fact it's in a fantastic looking part of the countryside, and some of the views are great.. the HD footage from some of the GT5 clips looks great.. I'm looking forward to GT5 big time.

It would be terrible if they included the GP track but didn't allow you to race on the full layout... Say for example it was either the GP layout or the Nordschleife.

Personally, I hope they go the whole hog and include the full GP track. Giving you the option to race the nordschleife, the nordschleife and dtm track combined or the Nordschleife and the GP track.

Its good to know that GT5 is getting closer and closer to release (after about 5 years of dev time). And whats really bothering me is, what are they really doing. i know a car takes 4-6 months and a track takes about 1 year. But really 1 year? Heres what I mean.

Well what really bothers me is that Nurburgring might be a copy and paste from the GT4 version (I dont know if the same can be said about the other tracks). Someone posted pics showing the road and the same exact trees are in the same place. Just different color and maybe higher res I dont know, here they are.

But what I also noticed was this. Look at these screen caps I took.

On the left the fence has the same amount of polygons and same goes with the poles and the white wall. Even the white line next to the wall (not talking about the background).

So if it really does take 1 year to complete 1 track, why is it taking so long if from the looks of it they are just taking assets they already have and high ressing it, thoughts?

I don't think PD produced that demo as a representation of the final version, it is only a taste of something (basic gameplay, sample-grade graphics).

We are all going to be blown away when the game comes out. They have a lot of pride in their mentality.

Wow, I came in here thinking this was going to be a BS thread, but it is the same. That sucks!
If you think this demo isn't a representation of the final version you are going to be disappointed. The game is 90%+ completed.

Well I'm questioning, in what stage of production did they produce a separate demo version. Also what is the ideology/intention of the demo.

It may be that the "demo" is not a cut-out of the actual game, but a separate mini-game produced for whatever reasons other than strategic marketing (according to North American business practices).

I hope you two are right cause I will be very disappointed (die hard GT fan since GT1). Why cant they show they just show the final version of the track instead of the "demo" version.

Unless you guys know its 100% not exactly how that track is going to look like in the final game.

The game is 90%+ completed.

Doesn't mean the demos are. If you think they're showing something they just finished yesterday, the absolute latest build, then wake up.

Want to know what happens when a company does that kind of thing? Want to know the result of a developer not using older stuff that was tested, and instead chose to show the public the latest, up-to-date stuff?

Youtube: Microsoft E3 fail. THAT is what happens when people show things they only just finished. That's what happens when you put the newest things out there without weeks and weeks and weeks of testing.

Are you saying that if this is the final build it's a fail?

We already have a 100 odd post thread on this topic, so I've merged the two together.

The main difference between those two lower pictures (post#98) ...

...The link road (?) behind the BMW is coned off on GT4, but is not coned on the GT5 shot

Good spot.

To me it looks the same. I'm curious what changes they've done of course.

Thats not so strange is it? gt4 version was very good and I think gt5 version will be very much the same just with better lightning, textures and resolution.

The GT5 shot if captured a moment later (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uwLtnur5F84 around 1:16) you'll see a tire wall a little further up the access road. The camera angle is a little funny, but it might not block all of the access road. But that's obviously all minor details, if the track, barriers are all identical then pfff.. Could have smoothed some of those barriers at least.

Just shows that GT4's nordschleife was pretty accurate and PD's happy with it. GT4 HighSpeedRing is very different from GT5p HighSpeedRing, so I'm guessing that all of the fictional GT4 tracks are being redone from the ground up, but the real tracks just get a lick of fresh paint. Just wait till we get a glimpse of Laguna Seca ;)
