I looked but didn't notice... I was going to loan a friend a ZR1 C6 Corvette (RM), just to try it out. But I didn't know if I could get it back. So I tried giving him a crappy car first. I don't remember what it was... some kind of old white box... but when I gave it to him, it said 'upload failed'. It took the car from my garage and DID NOT give it to my friend. Never got it back. It basically deleted the car... glad that didn't happen to my $500,000+ Vette.

One more thing I want to add... Which I think may be the WORST thing in this game by far... is the pre-race song with the little kids singing. I've browsed the song list over and over and over. For more than an hour. It's not in there. For some reason you can't turn it off and it's the most freaking annoying thing in the stinking world.
 
Happened to me as well. Since then I have sent others and it seems to have just been a fluke that time. Luckily the one I sent was a joke to my friend.
 
Only send items through the Gift logo on that person's profile page.

Do NOT gift the through garage, or so I hear.
 
Happened to me, modded an F40, not a used one but a freackin new priced car F40, wanted to do him a favour because he is a Ferraristy threw and threw!!! Upload problem... He never got it and it went off my garage. I mean this is an 350000 car, not so tough but it had 0miles!!! And the mods all except engine and last turbo. But imagine this happens to a 20000000 car!!! What provokes this upload error and how can we avoid it, is there a possibility to get that car back, cause i also lost a catherham that way(was a used one but still it stinks) for info they were all goin to the same guy.
He send me his ferrari italia, (thats why i wanted to send him the F40 for saying thanks) i could send him that one back. So what is the real problem to this list car thing???
 
Thanks Arcticzap. my friend list wouldn't load from my garage but trade worked fine from friends profile in community.
 
Just hit your PS button and quit the game immediately when you get the alert. Restart the game and all will be fine. Your car will still be in your garage.

I've done this multiple times with success.
 
This happens when you lost connection to the servers for whatever reason, mostly on PD's part. When you check Profile, there's nothing at all: no yourself nor your friends.

Fortunately this only happened so far when I tried to share some photos. So my suggestion is check the Profile page everytime before uploading stuff.
