Has anyone else noticed SR being more punitive?

As often happens to me, I had to quit a race the other day when a client called. I dropped from SR of 96 to and SR of 83. I usually roll with it. Then I had a race with some minor bumps (metaphorically). I was given one of those stupid "passing under a yellow" penalty for passing the guy who caused the yellow...why this is still in the game is beyond me...and I drove that penalty out in the race. I was fortunate enough that I have enough of a gap to the following player and enough pace on him that I just managed the penalty until the end.

I came out of the race with and SR B (64 points).

I've had a few clean races since but I am still only an SR A.

Is it just my perception or has anyone else noticed their SR has taken a bit of a beating in the past few days?

I've noticed it be more lenient actually. I've been spun around completely (after major RAM from behind) and no orange SR's and still counted as a clean races. And when my SR has gone down by a chunk, I know why and it never felt any more or less of a chunk than previous cases.

I noticed it too. I lost 16 SR points (99 to 83) in one race as a result of being hit off track 3 times.

It seems to be more punitive at higher SR and perhaps DR.

Draft bumping on Bluemoon bay cost me 88 SR points at A/S (37761/99)
Then the exact same strategy the next race, no more deductions at B/C (50000/21) reset bug hit me hence the 50000.
Yet after raising it to 30 (got 9 points for a clean Brand's hatch race) it went down to 1 doing the same draft bumping again on Bluemoon.
And big surprise, one race later, same strategy again at D/E (7000/1) (reset for real now), gained 53 SR points in one race! Then down again, up again.

Today I started at 19464/33, 6 GR.1 races later I'm now 24915/99, max +20 in one clean race from 37 to 57.

So quite lenient at lower levels, and more strict at higher levels. I saw the same thing last week on Monza. Had a 28 point drop from SR.S in a nasty dirty race. And another 14 point drop from 68 a few races later. However the max gain on Monza was always 4. Yet at around 50 SR, with a yellow flag penalty and getting bashed around in T1 I still got +3, while at SR.S either a yellow flag or getting hit in T1 already puts you down at neutral.

I like your dedication to bump drafting

For me it got more punitive in terms of regaining the SR back. Dropped from S to B a few days ago, spammed Race B for the rest of the day. All of them were clean races (5 or so) but I barely got to A
It took around 3 more Race C dailies to get back to 99 SR

You get at lot more points for a daily C. I did get 9 points for the 5 lap Brand's hatch race, yet that was at SR.21. On the 5 lap Monza race the max per race was always 4 with clean race bonus and all. On a daily C the max usually is 13, however I got 20 at SR.37

I could not get my SR back above 66 in a marathon of 32 Monza races last week. The next day, 3 daily C races was enough to put it back at 99. Daily C is the way to go to raise SR, unless you go draft bumping :)

That's good to know. Has the SR system always been like this though? I used to regain my SR S rating back by spamming Race B

No thanks for the bump drafting, I'm too conscious of my ratings

Looking at my history it stayed glued to 99 a month and a half ago.

Kudos prime records the stats at midnight GMT, which is crash fest time here, 5pm west coast, 7pm here, 8pm east coast. Races are cleaner later during the evening. So those are mostly the minimum it gets too in my case and a month or more ago it didn't waiver from 99 after I stopped playing the FIA races. (Are they more behaved yet?)
It does feel more strict now, one yellow flag penalty can already cause a white rating in a 3 lap daily B.

Guess where Bluemoon and Monza races were..

Don't worry about the ratings, SR.S can be more dirty than SR.C I've noticed. You just need to stay within one level of your DR or you might get demoted.

Oh cool! Thanks for the info 👍
It's not that I look for clean racing (I'm in the higher DR is cleaner faction, with little regard of SR), it's just that anything below S look ls ugly to me...
Been working to get the DR up to S as soon as I can as well :)

Stayed at S for the first 3 months. After 1.12 I dropped from a steady S rating (99) to B (41) in 1 or 2 days without driving more agressive. Even people leaning into me in the corner drops my SR... DR is going up though...
