Has anyone else over taken Sebastian Loeb?

Out of curiosity how many people here have actually beat Sebastian Loeb. I don't mean get gold... but actually get infront of him! i managed to do it on Chamonix in the Sebastian Loeb challange. I ended up beating gold by something rediculous like 14 seconds
 
WOW I fail at those. What aids did you have on/off?
 
Every aid off. But if you are realllly struggling i have heard skid recovery on helps. Keep abs on 1 though
 
those are the rally races right? i seem to defy physics for gt5's rally races as i dominate every one i play... too much DiRT2 :)
 
I did on both Eiger and Chamonix. He was pretty slow in some corners.

I don't see why not. They got S. Vettel and J. Gordon in the game.
 
I'll have to take rallying lessons from you guys :lol: I can gold em, but not by THAT much :lol:

Well, it was definitely a human driving :p

He did complain that the physics weren't quite what he would call realistic, though, maybe that was his problem :dopey:
 
yes, haha i passed loeb easily on eiger. The rally in this game is fun and easy once you get used to it, the rally challenges I was not seconds but minutes ahead of the 2nd place people.

I'll second that.... the lessons part. I can't pass the rallying events at all. I suck.
 
I can beat him easily on Toscana, passed him on my last try on Eiger. But took about 20 attempts just to get gold on Chamonix. I really hate that track.
 
Yeah, take everything off and drive carefully. No sliding in the dirt helps a lot.

I just managed to pass him in the last corner on the snow getting gold with over 7 seconds to spare. I still havn't gotten the K trail down yet. Still about 1 second to slow there. Toscana I was right on his bumper at the finish for the gold.

Keep the aids off, wear a condom.
 
Speaking of rallying. When doing the Gran Turismo rally challenge (not the Loeb one) I got over 2min margin over 2nd place on the totals when driving on snow.. I'm not hopeless at rallying, but c'mon.. TWO minutes?! That's like 30sec every stage on average.
 
I haven't given them a try yet but I passed the rally tests on the licenses with gold from the first try :D

Does it have to do with me never being able to resist drifting on regular tracks? Rally skills = Drifting skills?

I usually finish a second or two behind him. But that's gold and that's all I care about :D
 
The description says beat Seb to get gold. Not true! I tried the first and got gold with him ahead by a few meters.

Remember he starts off before you do, by about 2 - 3 seconds. So you're basically trying to match his time, ideally beating it by some margin.

If you're struggling with the events, put TC on 5 and ABS on 7, helped me!

The snow events on that challenge are beyond easy. Tarmac and dirt took me a couple of attempts but the snow stages had me pulling 30-40 seconds lead every stage.
 
I got in front of him a few times but seeing as I wasn't totally familiar with the tracks I would let him pass me and "lead the way" Still Golded them all anyway so job done.

I got in front of him easily in all events.
 
I passed Sebastian Vettell, now that was an ego-booster. :P
 
I did it at Eiger Nordwand without aids. Was a bit confused...but then I thought "Ok, Sebastian is not the best at GT5"

Yeah, with 20m wide stages it isn´t very hard to overtake your opponents. Was wondering, why the AI always brakes that hard with those wide stages.
 
I almost did twice at eiger, but I underestimated the last two hairpins so I had to brake REALLY hard not to crash. Then I almost overtook him again at the end. My time's 4:03
