Was at level 18 a spec and level 11 b spec.

Decided to delete my game save and start from scratch.

This time I'm not going to sell a single car I get.

Has anyone else done a restart?

I have restarted several times and have two active games going right now. I just added new users, though. I kept the old games in case I wanted to go back to them sometime.

I started a second profile after reaching level 32/36 on the first one and now the new one is level 28/30 or so.

I did it one to entice me to re-run low level races already completed and two to maybe grab some different cars from the UCD. Also now I can have 100 favorites on each account so I can use one account for one type of racing and another for other kinds of racing. Online of course.

If I restart I will do so with my Collector Edition version of the game.

I bought the regular version because Play N Trade bailed on completing my pre-order; and then I asked my sister in Arizona to track down a collector edition and mail it to me-so now my bonus/extra chrome cars sit waiting to be claimed :dopey:

I restarted to start using my GTP account. was level 27 A and 17 B , already up to 25 A now and 11 B

Out of curiosity, why did you guys restart?

One game I was trying to use only Bspec until I was lvl 40 (at lvl 38 now). Then the Seasonal races started and I realized I'd miss some if I stayed B spec only.

So I started a new game to do the Seasonals and Aspec races.

Eventually I'll probably abandon the first game and do all the Bspec over on the second.

Makes no sense, I know... :boggled:

You can use the bonus car codes on your existing game. They are tied to your user account, not the game disk.

Well I'm level 37 and 35. No chance of me restarting. EVER. Unless all seasonal updates were playable from the start of the game and no grinding was necessary to finish the game.

I restarted out of pure boredom.

Sure, i had a level 27 A-Spec.

However, i was messing around one day, and i decided i would B-Day glitch a bit. I got two cars, the Mark IV, and the 330 P4.

However, a day or two later, i felt a bit of guilt. Sure i had the car, but it just didn't feel right.

However, i had a ton of PS3 accounts on my system... so i restored my ps3 to default.

i did a restart from only aspec level 14 because i had just bought a wheel and wanted to start again from scratch to get used to it. Wouldn't do it at a high level tho!

One of the largest reasons that I restarted, was that I sold cars that I needed in a spec without thinking about b spec.

My new game strategy has been suiting me much better. I'm actually further in b spec than a spec.

I didn't stick to my "I'm not going to sell a car" deal though. I started to receive very similar cars and realized that after a and b spec races were completed I'd never drive most of them again.

You lot are mad. Had to restart once at level 14 when my HDD died. (Pre backup patch). It killed me. Now I am 30/14 and do not wish to ever have to start again.

I created a second account about a month ago, the idea was to win the prize cars again and send them to my main account, mainly a 0 mile red bull and some of the 20mil cars (Ford GT, XJ13), but I didn't make it before the 1mil cap!
Still I found a few rare cars in the extra UCD, and it's also handy for duping tickets..

I do but i was force because a corrupt HDD, and it that time was no backup option.

I'm thinking of deleting my game save, and doing the game entirely online. From scratch.

I had two game saves lost in Shift (protected game save there). I played once with a pad to complete the game, once with a wheel to complete the game, and then, after the second crash, I said 🤬 it, I'm JUST playing online this time..!

I think I'm going to enjoy GT5 if I just get away from the offline section entirely. It is an abortion of a game, constantly annoying me with its lack of logic and idiotic AI.

I can do Shuffle Races until I have enough for a decent GT car or two, and go on from there.

Yup, 2nd account is up to level 27 now and still producing tickets to send to my main account. Thus far I have won/transferred:

Nascar ticket
Classic muscle car ticket
Modern muscle car ticket
Rally base ticket
Rally ticket
Rally classic ticket
Level 21 ticket
Level 17 ticket

Plus a car max tuned per day - and I still have 12M credits in the bank on the 2nd account. I play the 2nd account much more than I do the primary account - especially now that Seasonal events pay ludicrously low exp/cr.

Reinstalling makes zero sense - just create a 2nd PSN account!!

+1 for the dead HDD before we could backup.

I was gutted but did learn from a few purchasing mistakes, might use the other half's account and start again with race lengths at twice the default due to the lack of events, but GT5's becoming much more about online racing for me now.
