has anyone had freezing issues with their gt5 disc or is it just me?

Ok so a while back my gt5 started freezing at the first or second turn of any track I'm racing so I uninstalled it and reinstalled it but it still does the same thing! Anyone else have this problem before??
 
Yesterday I had mine lock up after the end of the b spec nurburg four hour event. The game was running a couple frames a second like it was on slow motion. It was slowing the whole ps3 down even the xmb. I ended up having to quit the game. As soon as I did the ps3 was back to normal. I have been having issues like this since the network came back up. Gt5 is the only game that has been problematic. I have cleared the catche and it still has its once or twice a night hang ups. Happens on both my ps3s and with two different game discs.

Mine would freeze after completion of a race, after receiving my credits and XP points, during a switch from the event back to my GT Home(during the "GT" loading screen). I was signed into PSN when the freezing began. Yesterday I thought to myself...."lets try playing while not signed in." I figured I could finish BSpecing the Super GT so I didn't really need to sign in anyway. 30 laps at R246 and some UCD exploring and not one freeze during loading screens.
 
I've played it while I'm not signed my internet was down at home so didn't have a choice for a while hahaha anyways I'll try the music thing and the not signed into psn again cause this is irritating me on top of that some of the thumbnails for the cars aren't showing either in my garrage.

That's happened to me too. Just the black screen with the GT logo with the pre-race sounds and music playing softly. Also happens some times if I quit a race after starting when I discover I have my Indy tune loaded and then racing at Tsukuba or some similar slow track. Or leave the driving line on at Indy--that's about worthless.
 
Sounds to me like your laser lens needs a clean. You can get a DVD cleaning disc from the SOURCE or dollar stores have them too. My PS3 quit during the 4 hour at Nurburg, cleaned the lens and no problems since. Make sure your disc is polished too.

Good advice, but that's done on a monthly basis. I think its just something up with the game when it tries to resynch with the network at random times.

Well I shut off the custom music tracks and now it works fine....good enough for me but I'm still gonna clean the lense hahaha

Okay, that tells me exactly what the problem is, because the same thing happened to me. One of your songs is corrupting your playlist, and the game keeps trying to play it anyways. After a certain amount of time passes with the song not working (for me it was 1 minute and 18 seconds exactly) the game crashes.

So if you can find what song it is (I did it by switching the play order to sequential and starting Demonstrations until the music stopped working, and then removed the track it stopped working on), the game should go back to normal.
 
Mine hasn't been freezing during a race. Just after a race I get stuck on the GT screen. Like it's loading, thats when mine seems to have issues. Ya this has just started this past week. 👎
 
yeah mine to skeevy, i disconnect my wheel and it seems to sort it out but not all the time

it happened when they were updating something on the gt servers. adding new seasonals or something. i thought my game was screwed. i played without signing in, and it was fine. the next day, things were fine as well. i think the game checks things between races and during load screens. i dont remember, but i may have been trying to race a seasonal race when it was happening.

i havent had it happen during a race but stuck with the gt logo. Had to quit game, restart and it was fine. only once so far
 
Even with the custom soundtracks enabled and a corrupted song file, GT5 should just skip over it and notify you if a song is corrupted. But it worked after you disabled it, so...


However the same problem as described with the first post also did happen to me. But I uninstalled and reinstalled the game data and it worked fine after that. It happened when I used my Mustang GT. The game had trouble loading what appeared to be the Tach.
