I mean at the first trial on Nurburgring, using a simple dual shock 3 instead of a wheel ?

I've just played for 5 hours straight onboard that X2010, at first I used the analog sticks, as i'm used to, then I realized it was better to turn back to the arrows to made fast direction changes, and after all that time the best I could do was 2:14.519 . Bronze is 2:14.500
....
....
can you imagine how i feel now ?
I've succeded in getting gold in every special event/license test so far, and now I struggle to get a bronze. That's so stupid!
So I'm wondering if anyone here has managed to get a gold ( or a silver at least)using a simple d-pad. I think it's almost impossible to make it without a wheel.

Maybe at Monza, but that's it. Bronze is hard enough with DS3. Respect for doing with DS3, mate. :)

I did get gold on Monza with DS3 today, however I've only got bronze on Nürburgring and Suzuka (haven't tried since bronze). I used sticks for both steering and accelerating/braking. Haven't tried the d-pad, but I can't see how that could be any better, since you need to be able to do small adjustments on your steering.

It's extremely difficult with DS3 and I would say impossible with <> buttons on pad.

The car simply responds too quickly, it is not physically possible to keep the car on a smooth turning curve when going round corners when using <> buttons to steer.

I have no idea how anyone can drive that car with a DS3. I was messing around in course maker and I couldnt keep that thing on any track. If anyone can do it, they are a god amoung men. FFS, it took me 10 hours to brozne with a wheel.

So it's just exactly as I was expecting, it's impossible to do it, except with monza, which has more straights than corners.
Maybe later I'll give another try.

Anyway I'm a bit disappointed with this, because my intention was to get the platinum trophy and I really was on the right path to make it, with gold medals in every license test/special event, and every race made so far, but now it's like I were forced to buy a wheel - and a good one - if I want to get gold in vettel's event, and so the platinum trophy; and that's unfair.
