Has anyone noticed the tiny bit of tobacco advertising they forgot to edit out....

Also if you import a F2007 from GTPSP the F2007 has a Martini logo completely uncencored that does not happen on the prenium version of the F2007.
EDIT:Theres also cars that are cencored for no reason I.E The D2 CLK almost every decal was cencored along with the BOSS/Sonar DTM Car in GTPSP it was cencored in GT5 its not.And i have yet to understand why they cencored all the decals on the Renault 5 Turbo Rally Car.

If GT dont get permission to use a registered brand name then they have to remove it. Even as big as the Video game industry is some companies dont see it as worthwhile advertising and try to charge the developers for using a regsistered trade mark.

In most cases it works the other way around. The company pays the developer of the game.

This is one reason why Ferrari didnt appear until GT prologue. Ferrari wanted more than all the other manufaturers put together to have their cars in the game. Its only just comming to companies minds that more people play video games than read newspapers. There may be young people who play now who will one day be able to afford a ferrari. If they grow up with lambos then what they gonna buy later on?

There is a small loophole that prevents them from having to do that for every sponsor on a race car. If they get the licensing from the series to use the complete likeness of the car they do not need to get individual permission (ie the NASCAR, WRC, and Super GT Licenses). As for using the likeness of vehicles from a defunct series (such as Group C) it depends on the sponsor agreement originally with the team owners of that car. Most say that the sponsor allows their logo to be used in any media with the car, so if the team or car owners give permission to use their race car in the game, PD is covered.

This brings me back to my confusion over the "West" logo, as they are not a sponsor that appears on the car in real life. Its just strange.

Might cause some problems in the UK too....All tobacco advertising in any shape or form is banned here I think. This is one of the reasons why Tobacco advertising was banned in Formula1...The guy who runs it is English...also i think the rule applies through all of the EEC (Most of Europe). There were some work arounds though. Marlborough used to just put a barcode on the cars. If read with a barcode reader it read marlborough. Maybe someone should give PD the heads up.....Im not one of the PC brigade but if PD gets hammered then its us as customers that will suffer!!!!! Less free updates, expensive DLC etc!

I found that about the color funny too, but also those barcodes, the ones on the ferrari f1 cars look like the logo from a distance if you look at it while not trying to look at, clear description? huh?

anyway I don't think it works, my friends didn't see it, but now I told them they see it all the time, so maybe it's already in my head,

btw you're overreacting on forseeing problems for PD and customers and more expensive DLC

but hey, we're all entitled to our own opinion.
 
Hey guys don't forget the Silk Cut logo which was removed from the Jaguar XJR!! That is a big one.
 
I was wondering why I've smoked 6 cigarettes and only been awake 2 hours! It must be that sticker on the car, yes, must be!
Oh and I'm also drinking Pennzoil for breakfast. Curse those on car ads!
 
Anyone noticed that the Infineon logo text is blackened out on the Tema Audi R8 LMP cars? I think Infineon's not in the game because PD lost the license. :confused:
