would they mind posting a time please. I justed wanted to find out what the simulation time would be.

I have an old Best Motoring video of the GTR that was driven by Kurosawa (Gan-san) around the Nurburgring and was timed at 8'22" in standard fit.

The thing which you have to remember when talking about nurburgring times is that the track is open to anyone meaning there other cars on the track at the time. In games there never are, which results in better times

I recall seeing a video of a 943hp NSX-R pulling a mid 7:00 time on that course.

That's pretty crazy.

Especially the speed on the straights :scared:

Thats a pretty serious NSX, I wonder what type of gearing he was using for that car, and how dramatically the motor had been changed...wow ><

I've seen a lot of Best Motoring video in Nurburgring (like the STI Spec C by Gan-San of course)

I'm waiting for the videos..

Kazuo Shimizu broke the 8:00 minute barrier in a stock Nissan Skyline GT-R several years back. If memory serves correct, it was an R-33 but I'd have to look it up.

I call crap on this, more would have seen it , and the only version I recall of an nsx-r running the nurb would be the best motoring time of 7:56. now you take that ~276hp car and add 500 hp you are looking at way lower then a mid 7:00 time. unless you give me the video or a link , I fail to believe this in the least bit.

also a link to an nsx anywhere near that much hp would be helpful :yuck: 👍

I've got that Best Motor episode. Check the second link in my signature for some Nordschliefe times (GT4 demo)...mainly the Falken GT-R and the R34.

8'22 is doable. 8'10 is probably doable. But unlike the video we don't need to deal with other cars or starting midway down the straight in the game.

these are the real track time for each car at the N-ring.

What NSX????? 900HP who????

damn, i had no idea the M3 CSl and M5 could pull those times...if it was Hans Stuck behind the wheel, i wouldn't be surprised, probably why the M3 CSL's and M5's times are better than a 360 Challenge Stradale

wtf is with street tires

no one uses those crappy street tires in real life on these cars, these are SPORTS CAR, they all come with sports car stock, no matter in game or real life.

and u can just go do time trial in arcade mode with a stock car.

Uh, no. It was a bone stock NSX-R, that 943 note you saw in the bottom right corner at the beginning is related to the temperature, not the car's power.

The thing which you have to remember when talking about nurburgring times is that the track is open to anyone meaning there other cars on the track at the time. In games there never are, which results in better times

That helps, but the main things that help are ;

- You can do it again, and again, and again, until you get it perfect
- You can pull crazy-ass risks that in real life would kill you, stopping your efforts in their tracks.

Jim Clark said it best - "But in a way, fear is a big part of racing, because if there was
nothing to be frightened of, and no limit, any fool could get into a motor car and racing would not exist as a sport" That is GT4. We can drive the 'Ring fast, but no way does that equate to extracting similar performance in real life.
