Has anyone tried to start over without starting over?

I don't want to erase my save but I think it would be fun to "start over" anyway. Buy a car within the (what was it, 30k?) range and start from scratch.

Anyone tried to do this, for challenge? I want to race all clean races without any contact and have an evenly matched car in each race.

Suggestions?
 
Yup, got 3 PSN ID's and started over again with two of them.

One specifically to do all of GT5 with my new wheel. And one account purely using manual gearbox. The account using the wheel has hardly been used as I'm a lazy git and can't be bothered getting the wheel set up!
