Ok, the opening title may sound odd or misleading, but
since the latest update my "Bob's" seem to be more timid or slow....:(

Ok, I don't use them a lot, poor guys....highest level driver is 25.
I started grinding the older on-line B-spec, because they all failed miserably at the latest Circuit de la Sarthe...
These early races were ALL won fairly, and quite easily.....
But this afternoon I tried them again (several times) and could only manage 3rd on both occasions....

Anybody experienced similar behaviour..? Or do my guys just need more track time...:boggled:

My Bob's aren't doing well in the new Online B-Spec Seasonal. He doesn't seem to understand the concept of "overtaking" somebody...

It is simply EXPERT BSpec, so very difficult as can be read elsewhere. The Expert A spec was also difficult, and I guess there will be more like in the future that since gamers still on GT5 are probably "expert" now

Yeah, it is like he forgot to be a race driver at times. But my lvl18 just managed to win Spa, admittedly with a bit of coaching, in a Toms 03 nonetheless 👍

Poor bugger was physically exhausted at the end though, another couple of laps and he wouldn't have won.

And about time too!

I wasn't aware Bobs ever had an edge. :odd:

In all seriousness though, I don't see any difference in the performance (or lack thereof)

its properly strange, my level 39 BOB was properly quick and a decent race driver before the update, now he's absolutely terrible. Not overtaking properly, randomly backing off for no reason, running in to the back of cars.

It's almost as though he's been reset back to level 1 or something!

My BOBs exhibit the same characteristics as before the update.

T.Diaz, my most experienced lvl40 is still an idiot. He was before, he is now.

All of mine are still as retarded as ever, they don't know how to pass they just play follow the leader, I about had a controller shaped hole in my tv after my lvl 32 bob followed 11th place for a full lap on a 5 lap race, and I was pressing overtake and increase speed non stop.

Mine are all in their 30's now. It seems now once their strength is @ 1/2 they just kinda give up and follow. My highest one is at 36 and seems to have had some sort of lobatomy.

I've got a handful of Bobs, 37-38ish ... and some are mindless drones that enjoy a refreshing balk on the beach, sticking to the other racers' back bumpers, braking on corner exits, and slowing down when told to overtake. Others are just bloodlusty psychopaths, ramming those in front, sending the car sideways ( sometimes intentionnaly, instead of turning the steering wheel in the appropriate direction ) and even performing PIT maneuvers to get to the front :)

The later are my favorite, of course, even though I sometimes have to hold the reigns tight for their own good :)

Think the "arrows" play a more important role now.

When Bob got a "blue up" one he drives fast and aggressive, opposite "red down" one and he will drive like a sissy.

my bobs never had the "edge" to begin with. they are as dumb as they ever were

PS my bobs are lvl 40,40,39,39,35,30 and all equally stupid

Some say: that his testicles are made from a material yet to be placed on the periodic table, and if he did place them on the table, they would weigh the same as Manhatten. All we know is - he's lost his edge- the edge that he never ever had!!

LOL, that made my day, thanks :)

Interestingly, I feel like mine have gotten much better since the update. Its exciting to watch the b-spec at al Sarthe. Lots of drafting on the straights with agressive/late braking and overtaking into the corners. I coach them through all the b-spec races, constantly though, maybe that makes a difference?

How about Bob experience level? i found that my level 31 Bob would drive better because he has so much winning experience compare to my level 29 Bob who gained level through seasonal and little winning experience.

Five of my Bobs are still as stupid as they have been. But one Bob named S De La Torre needs to ne sectioned in a mental institution as he is a big hazard to other AI. He rams, does pit maneuvers, overtakes without being to, he even cuts chicanes and drives on grass if needs be. He does everything possible to win. I love him but don't want to race against him. Why can't all my other five be like him?

I must have an anomaly of a Bob. My guy is aggressive, overtakes when I say overtake. And does a pretty good job.

Maybe it's the training?

I read a long time ago the key to a good Bob is getting one that is very aggressive. Since then all my Bobs have been very aggressive. (right at the red end). They all do well and only require minimal coaching. They need a little more supervision when inexperienced, as they can get into trouble, however when they get experienced they become quite good. To me the key to a good Bob is getting a very "hot" Bob and getting him experienced

My Bobs need help opening the car door, don't get me started on their racing skills.

Earlier on I retired my driver with the least amusing name, set up a new one then sent him round the Spa seasonal in a Takata NSX. New Bob went from level 0 to 20-someting in one race!

I did give him a wee hand by waiting until the track water was at less than 25% so the AI cars start on racing hards instead of inters....won by a good 30 seconds even though he had no energy for most of the race.

Think I'll get me another XJ13 to abuse...the dark green chrome paint and see if I can drift in it. Running out of stuff to buy with all these easy credits :)

I guess I'll have to dust off the Bob's and try this, too good of a payout to pass up! I hope no controllers are harmed in the process.

To whoever person at PD that is responsible for Bobs behaviour characteristics: Congrats, you invented artificial retardedness.

My Level 40 Bob quickly mashes on the pedal right before the apex of every single goddamn corner, then watches the other drivers fly away as he doesnt even touch the throttle for a cool 2 seconds. Whenever he is even slightly over the middle of his temper he ends in the gravel at Mulsanne and (not or - and!!!) the wall at Arnage after which he continues for up to 10 seconds at traffic jam speed. With no other car in sight.

PS: You re a lucky fella that we re living in modern day times. In the Japan of only some centuries ago people were told to ritually perform suppuku for much less than this embarassing s:censored:fest of an AI.

 Well, it would seem that "most" Bob's all entered the same driving class....

Yeah, my guys are all too courteous when it comes to re-entering after a spill..
Many times they will just sit, waiting till the last place car has passed..

I've taken a couple of them back to beginners class....putting them in a suitably classed car and letting them have it.
I figure with their "supposed experience", winning beginner races should be a breeze.....well, think again...... They still require lots of guidance. At the rate we're at, I very much doubt we will make the B-spec race close end of month..
