Is it just me or is it really really REALLY annoying that he has to comment everytime you mess up on one of his challenges, yea Jeff we know the car is heavy, yes Jeff I messed up, just shut up and let me do the challenge.

^this

The thread title and OP are hilariously spot on.

Creepy "Polar Express" Jeff with the uncanny valley dead eyes was a little unnerving also.

I laughed when I saw the topic title. Then I realized that I totally agree. "Ooh, you really messed that one up." Honestly, it provokes thoughts of the unthinkable.

Not a fan of the CGI RoboGordan, the poorly dubbed version has looks & movements that could frighten children. His comments are laughable but with this game you got to give what you get. Makes me wonder if this was omitted how much earlier GT5 would have been released.

I managed Golds with my Dualshock on all but the last challenge @ Daytona. Can overtake all but 3 by the last corner. gaaaaaaahhhhh!! stop pitting mee scumbags! let mee at them and I'll D.Q them around the heads and shoulders!!! And then go after creepy face Gordon.....LOL

The worst part about his voice over is that his acting quality is akin to a local used car dealership ad (or a Reno 911 PSA haha)!

Policetek 2000!!! I thought nobody watched that! aahahah great show.

You guys cant complain ok Jeff Gordon is like a hippie kindergarten teacher compared to the Co-Drivers in WRC The Game, they insult your driving and give audible attitude, telling you things like "WHAT WERE YOU THINKING??" and they scream bloody murder when you hit anything "WRAAAAAAAAAWWWWWW!!!!!" Youtube it if you havent played it.

Jeff Gordon loves you.

HAHA! Your profile pic! ...I think it would have been better to use the overrated guy in car 88 or Kyle Busch... hell even Rob Dyrdek would have been better! LOL

People are complaining about the most ridiculous things, unbelievable.

EDIT: For people with sound problems: Have you tried the different in-game settings?

Hehe - I'm playing it in 7.1 and had the same "problems" with not being able to hear his voice - that was until I actually strained my ears to listen to one of his "helpful" comments and it actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise! Will wait 'til I've completed all of the Nas challenges before tweaking my audio settings too much :sly:

Maybe Eric Cartman might have been a better choice.

I thought it was funny. The whole special is Jeff trying to convince us how cool NASCAR is. He's like "see how hard it is, we are for real".

I had my first experience of the Intermediate trials last night, and I fully concur with the OP... the 3rd and 4th tests - taking the outer line around a corner on an oval without hitting any cones, are mega-hard... it's relatively easy to do it, just very difficult to do it quickly... but, to have Mr. Gordon helpfully suggest that you "Don't hit the cones!" after you have just run into the cones, is simply infuriating! :sly:

His comments seem patronising, his voice pitch and the way he says it puts it in that way.

Be thankful that he not an actor!

Green green green.... ok jeff you could atleast try to sound enthusiastic. And no i didnt use too much gas, the car infront put his brakes on while i was drafting him.

Jeffs comments annoyed the crap out of me.
I'm same as a few guys here, the intermediate challenges are killing me, the outside line ones. People that passed it are you guys using a wheel or Dual Shock 3?
Also, isn't it a bit of a waste to get Jeff Gordon to be in the game and not get him more involved in making content?

I think I cursed him and his family many times over because of his bland repetitiveness. I beat the 3rd Intermediate challenge (I missed it by .005 previously) and was so thankful I no longer had to listen to his comments.

@Dominic
I beat the 2nd out side line challenge on the first try with the controller. The 1st outside line change I think I had Traction Control on 1, Steering Stability on "Strong," and TSM "ON." This allowed me to stay smooth through the corner (really hard with the controller, esp outside line on Daytona.) I was able to just hold the throttle down and apex the corner, hugging the cones at the last 3/4 of the corner. I think I beat it by .2 or .02, this way.

@ FriendlyFire

Cheers dude, its the Daytona one thats killing me! I kept getting the same time, exactly a second off the bronze no matter what line I tried to take!

Yes he is annoying. On intermediate the tolerence for time is so short I keep missing out just by a few points of a second.

Turn off the driving aids and it all becomes very easy, they seem to slow you down a fair bit in cornering speeds. The only hard one i found is the very last advanced one at daytona, that is probably the hardest thing in the game so far for me ^^. Got gold on all the rest without any trouble.

"Ready?"

"Don't hit the cones!"

But I guess it's better this way, rather than him being all excited about knocking over cones like the dude in the sham-wow ads
