"Don't hit the cones"

Me: Shut up Jeff...
 How restrained of you. I almost booked a flight over to America, hunted him down, tied him to a chair and forced him to watch The X Factor. Luckily for him, the airports are shut because of the snow. That and the fact that I finally passed the damn challenge.

You would've been my hero if you have done that good sir.👍

It would've been fine if Jeff said something like "Ease off the gas to better avoid the cones"

A lot of NASCAR fans have a deep loathing for Jeff Gordan, but I never understood why.

Now I know why they hate him.

Turn off the driving aids and it all becomes very easy, they seem to slow you down a fair bit in cornering speeds. The only hard one i found is the very last advanced one at daytona, that is probably the hardest thing in the game so far for me ^^. Got gold on all the rest without any trouble.

Maybe with the steering wheel but the joy stick is a different story. I have decent skills with the joy stick and guiding the NASCAR car around the outside line is very difficult (at Daytona.) The key to the outside line is slowing down at the right points and the driving aids gave me just the right amount of "slowness" to pass with a Gold.

I just love how he says "dont hit the cones" in a way that makes it sound like we thought hitting the cones was the key to passing the challenge, and without his expert guidance we'd just be mowing down them cones all day long, with no end in sight.

We're lucky to have him, we really are.

As a European(not a Nascar fan) it annoyed the crap out of me as well.. Its like he constantly tried to point out that Nascar does require skill after all. You just have to remember not to hit the cones..

I suppose it did prove that Nascar cars are hard to control with a ps3 controller.

"don´t hit the cones, man!", "someone´s gonna get mad a you!", and others, really make you reach you boiling point, specially when you fail a bunch of times. At least Loeb stays shut.

My second go-around, I just hit the mute on my Onkyo receiver.

Of course, it takes away the sound, but you gain so much more in return..... :D

Hard to control period. You try putting 850hp own through what effectively is a 245 width tire.

Yes this was oh so painful to listen to, especially when he would say something stupid like 'don't hit the tyres.' Like DUH I know buddy.

As a bit of a newcomer to NASCAR, I'm actually loving it. The psychotic kamikaze AI make the NASCAR races really exciting when you're jostling in the pack and trying to avoid getting shunted into a spin!

Jeff Gordon was a poor choice for the tutorials though. It would have been way better if they got Ricky Bobby or Burt Reynolds to do it! :)

As much as I hated Jeff I was much more ticked off about the .2 seconds of a difference between Gold & Bronze in the cone challenge at Daytona (Driving between the cones and the wall). YEESH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If that wasn't so crazy to pass I wouldn't have had to worry about listening to that chump! :yuck:
