Have any of your family members fought for their country?

My grandfather fought in WWII as a gunner on a bomber.
He wasn't sent in until about the end, but he saw a great deal of action. Some that scarred him for life. He was a great man.

My father served in the Swedish army as the Captain of the tanks. He never saw any action, though.

and my uncle fought in Vietnam

My great uncle was in the navy in WWII for Japan.

3 family members died in the Civil War, 2 died in WWI and one lost his leg in WWI, one fought in the Gulf War.
