Without doubt GTSport has its flaws and limitation and I'm not going to list them. However I'm over 100 hours in now, I have enjoyed each of those hours and I feel I'm at the point that I have had my money's worth from GT. I paid £42 on release date which now equates to better than £0.04 per hour of play. That's damn good when I think about how much you can pay at the cinema to see a film, or the NetFlix subscription I don't use much, £4.50 for a pint of ale or the £45 is cost to go karting for an hour.

That's not to say I would be happy if someone snapped my disk in half, but I'm glad I got it and any further play time will cost even less that £0.04 per hour.

Do you have your money's worth yet? Perhaps I'm just easy to please.

Coming in I was not a fan that this was half baked GT or at least thats how I viewed it. However a month later I put in over a 100 hours and always play a few races every day. I mean thats any RPG time spent and I see myself spending even more time after the new update comes out. I find it so addicting that it put me off buying other titles because I feel this one takes up so much of my time now that I will for out cash for something really interesting like Shadow Of the Colossus in february. I totally skipped the new Evil Within and Wolfenstein thanks to being hooked on GTS.

I voted for the megan one haha.
but in all seriousness, I think I havent gotten my moneys worth yet, with PC2 I have absolutely with all the content and DLC(I also got the season pass and pre-order bonus).

For GT S however, i'm still waiting for a bit more content. but i'm a patient person :)

Yep. Collector's Edition and already got my value for money. The online matchmaking is great. livery editor is amazing and the photomode and scapes too. The penalty system is still not as good as it can be and BoP needs tweaking but that can come with updates hopefully. Also with DLCs coming, it can only get better.

Having said all that, I'm not sure the value for money (€ per hour of playtime) will be better for GTS than what it was for past games. Time will tell. For now, the overall experience is positive.

Yes. Easily. Which is a surprise coming into it because after the private beta, I was out. Good job for the demo or I probably would not have bothered. Also, on paper (content wise) I should be long done by now. As I have said here before GTS was announced, I thought GT mode was stale and I am predominantly an online player, even the limited campaign mode in Sport felt like a grind to me. But I can see why single player folks would be pissed off by this game, no doubt.

Despite its kinks that need ironing, for me Sport mode is by far the best way to race randoms. I can't go back random lobbies in GT or other games with split fields, stuttering game play when someone joins, dodgy pings, angry hosts who kick for being faster than them, being shunted all over the place because its basically accepted to be the normal way to go racing, spending 10 minutes to find a full lobby only for most of them to leave when they realise E.T. is in there with his super quick pace.

I've done all that for 10-15 years and generally accepted it was just the way it is. I had dodging the lunatics down to a fine art (if you can get through the first corner in an early Codies F1 game, you can get through anything!) and for the most part enjoyed publics too! But now, no, can't do it no more since I know there is a better way to go about racing randoms.

Not sure I like the facetious final option in the pole.

I can't say that after spending 350 quid on a ps4 pro specifically for GTS and 60 on the deluxe digital copy of GTS that I'll probably ever get my monies worth.

I don't play many other games so I'm weighing up selling my PS4 pro.

I'm only playing offline, doing the circuit experience currently, having completed the driving school beforehand and then whatever extra mileage needed to get my daily workout prize. I'm 100% getting my monies worth, because I absolutely adore how this game feels on the DS4 and I'm really enjoying the progression of it; whereas I got burnt out on Forza where money, cars and tracks were right there at the start.

The sheer challenge aspect of it reminds me of Tourist Trophy and that's one of my all time favourites. It's more concise than a traditional GT, but no less essential.

I've had my monies worth just for the VR content, driving around nurburgring, bathurst, brands hatch and suzuka in the cobra has got me more than my monies worth, and that's including the VR headset and a PS4 pro.
I shouldnt include those though, because driveclub vr and dirt rally vr has paid those off before summer.

Have not played much at all this month (Shadow of War hasn't been out of my console since it came in the mail), but definitely got my money's worth. Of course like everyone else I'm really excited for the big update whenever it comes around, mainly for the F40 after seeing how great that Cobra is.

No doubt GTS has its flaws, but I'll always keep coming back so long as PD keeps up support. I think the games biggest flaw, content, can be rectified in the future. I don't think we'll ever see GT7 but hell im excited for GTS2.

GTS is a game I can always come back to. Whereas other games will run their course, after the story is done or I've slaughtered enough orcs, I'll put them up and rarely revisit them unless I'm in the mood for it or it was THAT good (FarCry 4). The structure of GT games makes them something that I can always do something that'll hold my interest for however long I'm feeling that day.

Shameless plug: if you haven't tried either of the Middle-Earth games, GET ONE. Even if you aren't a fan of the Lord of the Rings series (which it doesn't really tie much in with the stories anyway) the "Nemesis" system is worth it on its own. Just get Shadow of Mordor and I promise you you'll have a blast:D

Without a doubt GTS has been one of my best purchases when comparing entertainment dollars spent versus amount of time and the quality of entertainment returned by the expenditure.
I bought the physical steel box edition delivered on launch day.
For total game play hours my cost works out at the present time to be 19.2 U.S. cents per hour.
For the total cost at the present time per sport mode race completed works out to be 23.2 U.S. cents per race.
Even adding in the additional cost of PSN+ with no discounts for two months so far my cost is still only 23.3 U.S. cents per hour played.

In my case anyway this game has been super in its return on investment. Also how many untold additional dollars have been saved because of not spending other money on entertainment while playing GTS?

My cost will continue to drop further the more I play the game as well. 👍 given from my camp.

Yes, in terms of dollars spent and time enjoyed.

Not that I don't have complaints about the content or structure of the game, but I am happy with the expense.

For the most part... yes. I have pretty much only played GTS since release day. I also finally got a wheel, if that tells you anything. I voted the Megane one, only because I do want more tracks and Gr.4 BoP needs to be fixed for me to race it anymore. As far as GT league goes, it doesn't interest me at all. I purely bought this game hoping for some really good online racing... That is what I got.

Yes, because I have a wheel and because of Sport mode. Without Sport mode I don't know if I could say that. I will play FIA too over Christmas break. Campaign I mostly play to test cars I don't have and to get gift cars. I did play mostly campaign in GT5 and GT6 back when I had a controller only. The physics are fun and I like the personalization with livery editor. Most importantly the focus of the game. Just need more cars and tracks. Which they are delivering. I got limited edition by the way a couple days after release.

Also the sounds, graphics, photo mode contribute. I would be disappointed if the sounds were bad, they are much improved and enjoy listening to them.

Yes, i don't race online, but the single player have more content that i thought and news about the upcoming GT League will increase the value :).

I do enjoy Sport mode (I don't have time for the FIA whatnot) but there's not enough offline content for me yet. Though once GT League comes I'll probably say it was worth it.

Dollars spent for hours of entertainment, I am satisfied.
(Whereas Project Cars 2 on PS4 was a total waste of money because they can't get the G29 to work properly like GTS, F1-2017, or DriveClub do, the only 3 other racing games I've tried since I have PS4 & G29).

Dont even get me started on PC2. Hands down worse game i have ever played.

Think i would rather play mario kart using a wii controller...

It's a bit difficult having to work during the day and then spending the evening trying to decide which game to try first - GTS, Forza, FH3 or Assetto :).

But I will always have time for the Gran Turismo series. Thanks to DriveHub, I can play all of them with the same wheel and pedals.

I'm an iRacing and online racing veteran.

All I wanted from GT for years was to fully embrace online competition and to move the game design away from a stale singleplayer "chase the braindead rabbit" "race". The core offline gameplay (the actual 'racing') has been 🤬 since GT5.

So with GT Sport and the embrace of the iRacing style rating systems, I got more than I expected as far as gameplay direction.

I am completely satisfied with my purchase, and the only tarnish on the game for me being:
  • Continued shunning of open-wheel racing
  • Lack of tracks, which needs to be rectified ASAP
Otherwise I am supremely happy. For me this is not just THE PREMIER online console racer, it is the ONLY game in town for decent online racing with matchmaking on console.

I’ve gotten the value for sure, it’s only Sport Mode that’s broken. I enjoy the gameplay, the GT community, Lobbies, Tuning for Time Trials and Chasing Records! As soon as Sport Mode is fixed and at it’s Peak with content this game will become one of the best games ever made.

No.

3/4ths of the game isn’t that appealing and the remaining 1/4th has limited appeal because, well, of the limited tracks and cars. All I can hope for is DLC to keep me interested and not call this a loss. Actually it would have been better waiting to buy this title until a year later. Otherwise I got more than my money’s worth from GT5/6 so I suppose I’m still ahead of the game.

YUP!

F.Y.I try the karts, they're really fun on the shorter tracks like Horse Thief Mile.
