For the last couple days I can only save images as .bmp's. I right click on an image and hit Save Picture As like I normally do. For some reason now it only wants to save in .bmp. I know theres a problem cuz if i go back to images that I know I saved as .jpg's before, now it wants to do them in .bmp. Whats going on here?

Well i have no idea why that happens. But i did read somewhere (dont know if this is ture) that uninstalling a program of some kind might have done this. But if i were you i would dl a progam that converts .bmp in to jpg's just do a search for it. That or reinstall windows.

OH BTW if your running xp just use the system restore feature. That might help too.

Would reinstalling IE work?

Unlikely. You say that it is saving files that you've saved before - do this, and compare the file sizes. If the newly saved (BMP) file is much larger, then for some reason IE is decompressing the file, and a reinstall of IE may fix it. If the newly saved file is the same size as the old one, then IE has got in a tizz about the extensions, and you can override it just by specifying the file extension JPG as you save the file. I've seen that before.

this always happens to me when I save pictures from supercraps.net but I just open bitmap and fix it

This has happened to me. TWICE!(when i had Win98SE) But i couldnt really figure it out. If you have an image editing program(i.e. photoshop) just right click the picture and select "copy image" then go into PS and open a new document and hit "CTRL+V" to paste the picture into the new document. Or, you could do what I did and screw MS in the ass and start using Netscape(only lasted for about 2 days).

I had this problem before with IE5 and 6. I deleted my cookies and cache and the problem went away.
