Damn, ...... Great looking bike your dad has got there... Ever check out the V-Rods? Simply amazing, but then again so are most (if not all) Harley's... Gotta love 'em.

For me, alot of the time I end up flipping all the way around and landing somewhat on my feet, but cintrifical (sp?) force keeps me spinning and I stumble a few steps before falling on my face :grumpy:...

Nah, I haven't checked out the V-Rods... yet.:) I didn't start looking at Harley's at all until I found out he was getting this one. The only Harley's I'm not a big fan of are the Sportsters. They look... fake. Like some sort of Yamaha/Honda Harley ripoff. I'd still take one, though.

Haven't driven it, and don't know if he'll even let me. He's not back with it yet, but he called me about 15 minutes ago to give me an update. He said he put 9 miles on it before they called the bank to transfer the money. He's been on the road for a few hours now. He seemed more excited than he's ever been before. Kept telling me how it's the coolest bike he's ever owned, yada yada yada. I thought I would never get him off the phone.

Anyone know how all that chrome is going to do down here with all the humid salty air? What are some good ways to keep it lookin' nice, and shiny, and to keep it from rusting?

Endo'ing a bike is so painful. It usually always knocks my breath out, and I just lay there gasping for breath for a good 5 minutes. On bicycles I usually try to stay way from the front brake unless I need the extra stopping power. I have disc brakes on mine so if you squeeze that front brake a little more than you should, you're gonna be eating dirt.:irked:

That's cool for sure... There's nothing like riding a hog with the wind in your hair...

Rust? Well you can constantly wash/wax on a weekly basis. Even if it's not dirty. Costantly fill in rock chips with polyurathane as they occur, and don't ride it on the beach. :)

Main thing is just keeping it clean, and washing/waxing it on a regular basis to keep the settlements from taking ahold of the crome and paint.

i saw a product that was shown on TNNs show TRUCKS and it was supposedly able to keep aluminum/chrome/metal surfaces form oxidising and rusting for about a year with just one application of the liquid substance. you might want to look into it.

and nice bike. my uncle bought a new heritage swinger a couple months ago after his divorce was finalized, expensive but nice. 21,000 off the floor surprised he did not have to be put on a waiting list.

I've shrunk these pictures a ton to make them fit on GTP. I shrunk them down from 500,000+ bytes, to under 100,000.

Beautiful. I just saw a Harley parked on the walkway of a store i wen to today. I've always respected Harley's, but I never learned much about them. I'm more into SuperSport Bikes. I plan on getting one down the road, after i graduate and pay off loans. Something smaller at first. There is no way I'd get an R1 or Hayabusa straight out of the box. I'd be looking at 600cc or lower.

Saleen- I'm the same as you - never really been into Harley's, or tried learning about them, but I've always respected them.:) I'm also very much into sportbikes.

I think my Dad said this bike was like 1450cc's before it was bored over, and had mods done to it.:eek: That's a huge motor, but it's still slower than a 600cc sportbike probably.:lol: Oh well, it's not meant to be some race bike. I'll ask for specifics later.

Not much into bikes (had a bad experience as a youth), but I've always thought H-D's were the bomb!!
As far as keeping the chrome shiny and clean, When I was in the Navy we used a product called NEVR-Dull. It's wadding that is impregnated with a metal polish.
Wipe on, let dry and wipe off. You can also use it to make really bad looking metal look new. (add elbow grease).
One caveat, Read the directions carefully, I don't remember ever using in on anything that got hot, like mufflers/pipes.
 
Are those belts that are driving the rears.
I've seen a HD below my apartment and its got the same thing.
Looks like a rubber belt.

Well, my Dad found a pretty good way to keep it from rusting.:lol: This just came in the mail today.:odd: I swear my Dad is retarted.👍 I've seen these for cars, but I didn't know they made them for motorcycles.

Those things are funny, though I've never actually seen one. They take close to five minutes to inflate, for cars.

The bubble is actually pretty cool. It has some air pump thingamajiggerbobber(yes, that's its technical term) that replaces the air inside of it 5-6 times every hour, making sure its always fresh, and clean, air. My Dad just left earlier today to go to Germany for a week and a half, but before he left he pulled it out of the ole' bubble to wash(without water, though, because he's afraid of missing some water that could cause it to rust), wax, and install a new HD license plate frame that arrived today. I took a picture of the back so you could see the new license plate frame... not that any of you care.:lol:

BTW- My Dad's a tool. He locked the bubble(put a lock on the two zippers), hid the keys, and alarm remote to the bike, so I couldn't mess with it while he's gone. I told him if I really wanted to mess with it I could just stab his big bubble. I believe his exact words were, "Boy, if there's a hole in my bubble when I get back someone's going to die!":lol:

Here is the front of the bubble. See that black circle inside the blue square? That's the big foam filter thingy(also a technical term) that filters the air that comes in.
