Is there any relationship between what part of your head hurts and the cause of the headache?

Right now the right front 1/4 of my head hurts...and I wonder if I could narrow down the cause...

Do you have/or have had a bit of a cold? Could be sinuses. Specially if it hurts more when you lean forward.

Ask Famine, he's the doctor. I think blood movement through your brain has something to do with some headaches. A lack of oxygen for some reason, perhaps. Obviously sinus pressure can stress your head bone and cause headaches. A good bonk on the noggin can do that. Basically, if your head hurts take some Tylenol.

If you've had anything drop on your head recently, you could have a concussion. When I was in Jujitsu, I fell on my head and got 3 concussions in 2 months. I Had headaches from the 3 spots I had hit my head on, daily.

And the perfect smiley for today is: :ouch:

Oh, it sure is.

I had a bit of a cold Friday but I felt all better yesterday. I think it might just be the fact that I spent much of the afternoon studying, at least when I wasn't distracted by GTP :grumpy:

I'm sure if he had a concussion, it would be more than 1/4th of his head hurting.

Not necessarily, As I said before: I hit my head on three different spots, And each spot was isolated, None connecting to the other.

Chris.

I don't think I got a bump on the head unless my roommate is taking out hidden agressions toward me in my sleep ;)

BTW, I think its utter nonesense but I've heard that the brain lacks of pain-creating nerves, so headache is only created at your forehead, neck and scalp.

Really?:dunce:

@ Skip
How about megrim?

I have megrim attacks every two days and I cen tell you, without analgesics you want to grab a gun and blow a clean hole through your head.
And its getting worse!:indiff:

Famine isn't the doctor, he's the engineer.

There sure is a correlation between head-ache areas and different causes. I'm guessing you have a migraine. Did you eat something with a buttload of MSG? How's the weather? (and, if there have been weather changes, do your joints hurt as well?) Open your eyes very wide, and then, with your eyes still open, squint your lower eye lids up and look downwards so you can't see. I find doing this refreshing at times. Afterwards, just close your eyes and relax, and try to get someone to give you a nice massage. Accupressure in the right spots does wonders.

If all else fails, a few advil won't hurt.

I think it was just from studing all afternoon without any breaks...

...now that I've been relaxing and turned the lights down I feel quite a bit better!

I have noticed that weather changes mess with me, usually I get sore, though.

No. Famine is the molecular biologist, with the major in oncology.

Anyway the answer to headaches are drugs. Fixes me every time.

Please tell me you got my post. (you know... engineer of teh_body)

I got it, Omnis.

I also got a slight headache right now, probably from editing myself some wallpapers and fiddling with a bright computer screen at point blank range, then from a cross the room, etc.

It is true that the brian lacks pain-sensitive nerves. This is why many brain surgeries can be done while the patient is fully alert and conscious. All they need is a local anesthesia for cutting the scalp and skull. Then they can have you do and say things while they operate, to ensure that they are not interfering with anything they don't need to be.

Your eye balls have no feeling either. So go ahead and stab yourself in the eye kids! Just don't put too much pressure on it or slip, because the nerves around it are very sensitive, and make you go "Ow!"

an eye is to an eye lid as a brain is to the skull, in terms of feeling and such. So no matter if the kid's knife slips or you konk yer noggin, somebodies in for a rough time.

Brains might not have sensory nerves, but they still have feelings! :(

funny, as soon as i saw the title of this thread, i got a headache damn you skip;)

i always get a headache, because i don't drink enough water, and i dehydrate easily

Well, concussions do tend to hurt a wee bit more than normal headaches ;).

Speaking from experience?

Sorry, couldn't resist

I'm usually just over tired or dehydrated. Get some sleep and a drink :). And an aspirin while you're at it...

i have a really vad headache, and that's why i'm staying home from school:indiff:

but it's good to get away from school:)

I get headaches really often.
If you get 4Head in the US then give it a try. It really works.

Don't know if any of you guys know this but....

You can take Ibuprofen and Paracetemol at the same time, due to the drugs being different. Quite useful if your head is being a pain.

800mg Ibuprofen, 1000mg Acetaminophen and a 20oz Mt. Dew does the trick right quick.

If you can get some, Zee Medical has a product called Painaid that works rather well. Aspirin, Acetaminophen, caffeine, etc. all in two convenient pills. We had them at my previous job. Great stuff.

We get something called HeadOn and, god, the commercial does not let you forget it....

That's all very well, but where the hell do you apply it?
