Headset microphone volume problem in GT5

Hi 2 everybody,

Maybe this will sound silly but I have the following problem, I just bought a gaming headset, the Sharkoon Xtatic SR Dolby, they work excellent but at the moment that I want to communicate in the game, people complain that they can only hear me too low or too far away.

I have already adjusted in the PS3 XMB area the settings for the microphone, I set it to the maximum and when I test the mic volume it works fine but somehow in the game no one can really hear me loud enough and it is getting frustrating 2 me.

I have tried everything and I need to say the only way that people can hear me well is if I talk really loud, but I think this is not the solution right. I mean otherwise what is the reason to have a mic on the headsets right.

Does someone know if I can adjust the mic volume inside the game? I haven´t seen any option for that.

Anyway tks in adv if someone has a solution and keep running.

You might have to go to Accessory Settings in the XMB and turn the volume on your headset up. As far as I know, there are no games that allow you to adjust your own voice levels.

The option should be under Audio Device Settings. Default is 3 and it ranges from 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest).

Thnxs GT Porsche, I already did that and out of the game the volume is very good even when I set the volume to level 3 but as I said in the game somehow the mic audio gets low.

I will see if someone else know what else I can do.

A couple of the the reviews at Amazon stated that they had to move the mic closer to their mouth.

Does your inline volume control have a volume for your mic? I read it has a chat volume but I'm not sure what that means.

The chat volume is an independent control/channel that allows you to mute or turn up/down your or others people chatting volume without affecting your game sound, I need to say it is quite handy when you do not want to hear silly people talking a bunch of things without any logic but you rather want to concentrate on the game sound atmosphere.

Anyway after checking in the forums regarding the same problem seems to be a general problem in the game, as sometimes people really hear me well and sometimes they don´t; so I believe might be a lag in the rooms, which by the way happens quite often in GT5, coz yesterday I was hosting a lobby and I didn´t have any chat sound problem at all.

So GT5 is not perfect at all, I wish will have the option for the mic volume like Left 4 Dead 2 has when you play online.

Anyway keep running.

Hi 2 all,

I have found the problem, I need to laugh myself, the problem was that I had my mic holes facing to the outside of my mouth, that´s why almost no one could hear me hahaha, therefore if you are not an alien then you need to put the mic holes facing the inside of your mouth hahaha.

Riddle solved.

Keep running.
