Thinking of getting a headset.
Got to have a mute or on off switch and would be cool if it could be used as a headset only for communication while still using existing surround sound for in game audio. Is there a setup or settings that allow you to use the headset for all audio including Chat and switch too chat only as well?

I picked up the new PS3 7.1 surround wireless headset and it's got a sound mix slider that allows you to adjust exactly that: chat only - chat and audio - audio only. It also has a mic mute button.

I have Turtle Beach PX21's. They have mic on and off settings, chat volume settings, game volume settings, an audio expander option (not really useful for racing games though), a bass setting and if you have an Xbox it can hook up to that. They may be more expensive then what you're looking for but they are less expensive than compareable headsets. Things to know: They're a bit awkward to set up but that may have been the way my living room is set up. The cable can get tangled up sometimes butt it isn't that bad. The build quality is good, just don't drop it a bunch like my idiot brother did to my set.

Right on. Thanks will try the 21x probably. Heard it wont play DTS, which is cool because it may allow me to use the set for Chat only and still use my surround? Or head set only when needed. In theory anyway. Going to try it out.
