I am currently in the market for a headset, things im considering are wireless/surround sound but they're a pretty penny. What brands/models are you using or have tried. Turtle Beach/Sharkoon/Logitech/Tritton???

I have found that TB's build quailiy is poor. I'm getting a pair of Sharkoons for christmas. Astros are good but very expensive. Also Sony are releasing a gaming headset soon, they might be worth looking at.

DPX-21. Wifey Pooh got it for my birthday, quite pleased.

Being the electronics giant that SONY is, it's amazing they have not come out with a killer set of "cans" for gaming.

I recently got myself an early Christmas present ....

My vote goes with the new Logitech F540 Wireless.

I've tried Bluetooth earpieces (picks up game audio and causes echo and delay)

I've tried Turtle Beach (P21 I think) and found it uncomfortable to wear for hours on end. Also, I was always getting tangled in the cord.

Researched wireless sets and found that Turtle Beach only makes one for the XBox and PC. Logitech makes a popular one for a decent price but it was only made for PC. Then they added the F540. It's a bit pricey at $150, but it's worth every penny in my book. The large leather ear cups are very comfortable and don't make my ears sweat like the Turtle Beach did and most importantly, it works as one would expect. The transmitter has 3 separate inputs (one being a standard 3.5mm headphone jack) so I use it to watch TV at night when my wife is sleeping. All my online friends (GT5) comment on how clear my voice sounds, while they can hardly hear most of the other people in the room.

And also remember the PS3 does not support A2DP. You can't get game/system sounds over bluetooth, only voice chat mic and audio.

Well I guess we can say that "it doesn't do it all" how sad. I have only used my A2DP Plantronics BT2 HS for chat and was thinking that since my old BT HS that was BT1 wouldn't work and I had to buy a newer one for my cell phone I was happy that my new HS worked great.
