So after the Ascari Chicane at that run-off where they all go wide in F1, is that a no go?

Just noticed that I've been moderately succesful ever since my debut here on GTP in march O_o.

Also how my skill has progressed over these months. Mel can attest to that himself.

👍 Keep it up!

That was season 1. It was pretty much run what you brung. I brung one of the orange Subarus in that picture.

Yes, and you also - I'm not going to post that picture.

How is there Toyota 86 and Mazda RX-7 in there. Aren't they more like GT cars?

Because they were in high-demand in 2011. ITCC Season 1 ran a different rule set.

The Mazda is clean.

Also, expect a load of drama come 'Ring time.

Objection on both accounts!

-Mazda is not "clean" unless you mean "not dirty" in terms of how it looks. The driver's on the grass; that is corner cutting, IMO.

-The Ring is the final track. All of the drama in the world won't matter.

Like the oooops :p

:sly:

I will allow that for use, yes.

Full ring or no dice :sly:

I'm considering it, since it's going to be our finale anyways. Problem is, will it be possible to make clean passes...?

I leave this one up for thirteen weeks of debate.

With lowish powered FF cars it shouldn't be much of a problema.

Although I agree with you 100% for what is probably the first time ever, by your definition, it is legal. (2 tires on the rumble strips)

^This! Looking at the calendar I cannot wait to race most of these tracks!

That's why I picked them. :p

We'll see.

I specified where both sets of tires should be. That includes the stipulation that the other two tires must be on the racing surface.

This happens to me on occasion. It turns out, it's when you begin to dedicate even more of your brain's power to the task at hand; making up for the mistakes/bad luck.

It is, admittedly, something you do well. Of course, avoiding it in the first place is a better idea, though it is quite difficult.

Anyways, next week is Monza.

Details:

  • Full weather possibilities (expect the potential for rain)
  • Room quality will be lowered from "High" to "Standard"
  • BMW weight as listed in OP will be reduced to 1300 kg. for further testing
  • Track limits are defined as having, at most, two tires on the red/white rumble strips. First violation will be forgiven (ooops) and every subsequent violation is a 5 second penalty.

For a photo of what that Track Limits definition looks like:

The Toyota 86GT is doing it right. Two wheels are on the red/white curbs, two wheels on the circuit.

The Mazda gets the "Ooops" violation.

The Focus gets the "Oooops" violation.

If either the Mazda RX-7 or the Ford Focus leave the racing surface again, 5 second penalty to the twice-offending driver.

Is this if you dont give the track position back? or if you run off at all??

Hope I didn't cause any big shunts for anyone today, I tried to keep my nose clean, which was easy in the first race! :sly:
Seriously though, thanks for the best GT5 racing I've had to date (Only been in open lobbies) and I can't wait to get on track with you all next week at Monza. Slipstream ahoy!

Evo finally agrees with mel on something.

Well, looks like it turned out well :).

I hope I can get some success (I'm probably the slowest driver on GTPlanet :ouch::lol:).

No yer not reshington

We're on page 55 (My race number and my favorite number) :D

My favourite is 5.

I'm like the James May of GTPlanet.

Less 20 minute nighttime stages in that sanic game and more Ring laps in MT no assists crappy tyres and you'll be tops.

Does it look like I want to do 20 minute nighttime stages :grumpy:.

I'll specify that, I can't believe I missed it.

If you use it to gain time, you'll receive the penalty. If you get pushed wide by someone else, the bumping is their fault, but the off-track is not your fault.

If you do it every lap, almost like you're doing it intentionally, you're going to get a penalty for every time. The track is 5.793 km long. That's roughly 5.8 km. Therefore, the race lengths will be: Qualifying races (5+1) and Feature races (9+1). 5 seconds per lap, 9 laps, 45 seconds worth of penalty. You've gone from first, to last.

So, I recommend doing your best to avoid it.

Hope I didn't cause any big shunts for anyone today, I tried to keep my nose clean, which was easy in the first race! :sly:

You did very well, in my eyes. You do brake late, but not as late as the madman below...

Madness!

You probably can.

^_^ :p

Back OT

Thank you.

Okay. I was just like Uh oh... Strict as GT5s penaltys... But no. :)

This season, we're running Fridays.

Season 4, well, we'll see.

I like the bunch of guys we've got, depending on people's schedules it may stay the same or cater towards the weekend drivers a bit more.

As for the off-track penalties, it's mainly just to keep people from doing this:

If you cut like that, yeah, 10 second penalty every time.

Thankyou.
Im running part time. Time to sort out what i will and wont run :)

Post-race investigations under way. Only one this week, but it's a doozy.

Good to hear you'll be around, but Nissan? I don't see that on the list of cars?

No leniency at all? I just thought it'd be wise to encourage people to slow down so much that they possibly couldn't gain an advantage from cutting the chicane. Automatic penalties are plain dumb, just my $0.02. :yuck:

Woah woah woah, my explanation was that you need to gain an advantage by cutting the track.

Riley, it's only off-topic if you're not clarifying why you missed the races. :p otherwise, it's actually a good thing for you to clarify where you were. :)

@ Adam, I'm allowing him to test the 240, since whisky's too stubborn to drive any of the FF cars, nor the BMW. because he's my best friend, he just has to be a pain in the rear bumper...
