That look so sweet man, now im waiting for Mr Shige Tekei to assemble the frex Shift+ aparently it's in plannng stage , doubt will see this before christmas

Aww...weren't you impressed with the $12.50 arcade joystick shifter in the first couple of photos? :D
Yes, it's been replaced with the Frex.

i'm impressed by your setup. i presume you replaced the joystick with frex because there is not enough resistance?
 
Here is the aluminum ds3 handbrake I have been working on. It has modulation and a good feel to it with spring loaded handle and adjustable stops front and back. It will be drilled in a few places to be fairly universal install.

It still needs a little cleaning up and shaping with the grinder and a little wet sanding to bring out the nice aluminum luster and I plan on doing something to the top of the handle grip area, probably going to chuck it up in a lathe and knurl the top grip area....... but it's a functioning unit.

Will be busy for a few days but after I will finish the mount for my chassis to accept this and I'll get some video of it in use. . I've got to build another one for a friend which will be way faster and cleaner looking yet because I know what I'm doing now to build it. The first one is always the hardest thing to do because you are getting the design figured out.

Impressive bit of engineering there.
I get the impression from the pics that when you apply the handbrake the controller will obliterate lol.

Nice job.

this looks promising - but like other comment, is this going to destroy the DS3? Pulling the lever against the Ds3 - i guess unless the spring is really strong. how strong is the spring, does it give a strong resistance like a real brake? and what do you think of a mounting clamp like frex? or at least some extension at the front with an m6 hole?
and also how robust is the throw -does it wobble?
 
He says it has adjustable stops, so I would assume that no matter how hard you apply the handbrake the controller will be unharmed.

haha thank you very much, I assume you are saying it's strong looking!!! nothing to worry about hurting the control. it has stops for overthrow and stops for return so you can just yank it to full if you know you want full lockup and let go and it snaps back.

Thank you and refer to what I said above. Yes the spring has good resistance to it. The throw feels great with hardly any kind of slop because the bolt that the handle rotates on has a smooth shank where it goes through the handle and it's threaded into the backing plate along with a jam nut on the back side of the backing plate to stop the bolt from walking out once it's all set.

I'm not sure what the frex clamp looks like. I am going to put an array of holes in the front portions as well as a 1 or 2 holes in the back part of it to allow for bolting it down easily.

thank you sir, and your assumption is right. NO HARM TO THE CONTROLLER as long as you set the stops to not over pull it. it will also have finger bolts for the controller clamp so the controller will easily be removable for other gaming use.
