I'm wondering if I can use my old Gateway 500G monitor along with my PS3 for GT5. I know I can get an HDMI->DVI cable, but I can't find anywhere telling me if my monitor is HDCP...

So, if I can use it, cool, I'll go grab a new cable. If not, can I connect my PS3 to the HDMI port on my Acer laptop? I tried connecting to it a few minutes ago, but I'm not sure if I need a certain program or converter for it. I'm thinking the HDMI port on my laptop is an output only...

Any help would be appreciated.

You can use that old monitor, but that monitor is not HD. Those DVI/HDMI adapters are very easy to find. If you have friends into pc gaming, they more than likely have several lying around. You would be better off with an old non-hd tv you could buy on CS for $20 than using that old 15" monitor.

That port on your laptop is out only.
