HELP...Deleted Game Recovery

OK, I'm an idiot. I've just lost everything whilst going to back up my save file. Has anyone successfully recovered their lost file or know how to recover it?

I'm not looking for free cars or anything like that...just help retrieving my lost data. If necessary, I'll start again.

Any help here is appreciated.

If anyone needs to verify that this is genuine, I've traded with a number of people over the last couple of months.
 
I just had the same thing happen to me over the weekend and have had no luck in recovering the data. I've resigned myself to starting over from scratch.
 
Thanks for the feedback. It's a little disappointing having reached A-spec level 32/ B-spec level 40 and 1060 cars...lol. Still, not the end of the world I guess!

1600 cars?? you must have a 0 mile and a done up version of every car...

Am.. the way I back up my save is with a SD card so if you did it that way you might still be able to get it off the SD card..?

I hadn't duped anything and just had my Bob's grinding a lot. Unfortunately I didn't back up with an SD card...I had an external hard drive. I'm still trying to figure out what happened. I know in future to back up on multiple systems. 3 months down the drain!

You didn't happen to clear out the External Hard Drive or anything because something similar happened to me but I had the SD Card.

Good luck getting it back!
 
Heres an idea...
when you "format" a drive, you don't erase everything like people think, yoiu simply tell it that the data can be overwritten, like theres nothing on there.

For ex, if you trash an sd card with photos, you can dload software to retrieve it even if ormatted.

Google, hard drive / file retrieval software and give it a bash, especially if it was an external drive, chances are is't ntfs file system and you shoudl be laughing.

google software, downlaod for free.... and rock n roll.

Ohh... This might help in the future. If you are going to back up your save for a trade and want your car back afterwards don't delete it, just overwrite it then you still have something if you make a mistake.

Thanks, but I was genuinely just trying to back up my save...nothing more. Hence the reason I'm an idiot!!

It might help, but don't rely on it mate.

Overwriting and formatting are different things, once you overwrite the save then bosch, the old is pretty much gone. If you format, it's retrievable.
 
I've just downloaded software recovery to see if there's anything on the hard drive to retrieve...we'll see.

By the way I was only saying the trading thing as a example as I probably won't need it anymore...

I'm guessing you've started again or did you find a way to recover the file?

I've just started Bob off to get me going again...fortunately I've got my chrome cars to kickstart things.

How would you feel if you lost 3 months of hard work in about 2 seconds?

Started again, my friend.

With around 20 hours of game time, I was literally there apart from my licenses.

Also, I also found out that instead of scraping silvers in my licenses, I ended up golding my first two completely.

Hey, look. I'll send over an Altezza touring car if you like.

That's pretty generous of you, but as I said to a couple others, don't feel obliged. I've still got my chromes and Bob is currently blitzing the field and up to level 3 already...6 more months and I should be back to where I was :)

As it happens, I had gold on the first two and last one...hopefully easier second time round!
 
Appreciate it, thanks. But I don't feel in any position to ask for anything in particular. If you really want to, then I'll gratefully accept anything.

Bob's now on level 5...he's particularly bad at the moment. I forgot how bad they are at the beginning!!!
 
Been there...I have one more thing to try before I completely rule out recovering my data from my external drive...but in the mean time I have restarted just in case it's gone forever.
