Help GT4 Win "Best Racing Game" at the G4 Awards

Right now "G4" the gaming television station is holding the voting for its own award show.

This is the main page of their website.

One of the categories is "Best Racing Game."
At the moment it looks like the "fast and furious" crowd is going to win out with the new-age, pretty crashes, full throttle arcade racer BurnOut3.

However, while the masses are voting for this rediculus 10 minute fix for speed, there are still a few of us out there who want to see a real racing game win the category.

GT4 can and will win if we pull together.

Please, take the time to go vote for GT4 as the best racing game of the year.

Please, lets all do our best to make sure GT4 wins this award instead of that pile of poo called BurnOut3.

I don't want people frequenting the G4 forums or anything... I just want GT4 to get the respect it deserves.

And well, if we let BurnOut3 win it certainly will not be a respectful day for GT4. :(
 
Well ive just cast my vote for GT4. will never use the site again so you will have to let me know if GT4 wins or not. it better now. :)

Really, I went in and checked out the forums over there and it was not exactly a design I liked (gtp lite user here).


Even argued for the sake of GT4 in their gphoria category threads... It was horrible to see so many people calling burnout3 a racing game of the year. :yuck:

Btw.. I think GT4 may have a competitor for most "addicting" racing game of the year.. Anyone for guessing ?... (It's not mentioned on the G4 site)

Honestly, Kent, had GTR been up there, would have voted it instead. But hey! G4 doesn't really seem to care about $30 PC titles. :grumpy:

I voted for all categories.

I can't believe how some of those games got in there more than others.

The Scarab battle as the best Boss Battle? PLEASE!
The Hydra Battle was harder. BTW, I voted for MGS3: SE "The End" for that one.
 
What's so bad about Burnout3? I'm mean GT4 is a way better game when it comes to realism but Burnout is still fun to play. My vote still went to GT4 though.
 
My vote went to Burnout 3. Say what you want but I love that game. Dont get me wrong though, GT4 is a great game and I still love to play it but the AI and no damage kinda bring it down alittle. I would like to play Burnout 3 but my dvd drive died(or at least I think it did. might just need a cleaning) in my xbox.
 
Only games i put my vote out for rae GT4, and HL2, if God Of War, GTA:Sa, or MGS are not in the same catagory i ote for them

P.S. Microsoft said the Halo2 had the best graphics of this gen games, hahaha they didn't even make it into the "Best Graphics" catagory.

P.P.S. i think GT4 should have been in best citamatics, cause of its opening video is AMAZING!!!

I think HL2 has got the best graphics in the bag, but who knows...
 
Well, Cinematics are short videos that happen during a game, and usually happen during mostly RPGs, or FPSs. I've rarely seen a racing game have Cinematics.
 
i feel dirty doing this because i totally boycott G4 and its extreme retardedness. But since its for GT4 i guess ill do it.
 
I want to know why Wipeout and Ridgeracer is on the list but Forza is not, also what about Midnight Club 3, that was better then Wipeout for sure.
 
hm ... purhapes if they said "driving game" instead of racing, but, ive been rear ended and rammed off the road too many times in my first real attempt (with a-spec) at le sarthe 24 I. so, sorry, im not going to go through the effort.
 
I haven't voted yet, but I think it's time I sound off- Texas style.

You see, we waited through delays. Many people were disappointed about no Ferraris, Porsches, body kits, car damage, decent AI (I don't complain too much on this), and all. Gran Turismo 4 had delays. Gran Turismo 4 let go of online play. I love GT4 as much as many of you GTPlaneteers. However, the reason why GT4 won't win is only because people think that games like Burnout 3 is simply much better. Hell, I even seen on G4 show "G4TV.COM" had one message board reply, and someone said in response to Forza Motorsport, "I'd rather play Burnout 3."

You know people, we waited, we waited, we made threads out of speculation, including yours truly, and when the game came out, many of us were blown away. Even I still enjoy Gran Turismo 4. Even when I'm losing races, I'm confident in blowing away the competition the best way I know how. But if you let things like no online, no damage, and no "real evolution," then you're just being an idiot. I did all kinds of threads and made all kinds of points. Stuff like "Sound Off! Aren't We Forgetting Something?," "Do You Really Care About Little Details?," and threads like this. I've worked too hard on GTPlanet to try to convince people that Gran Turismo 4 is the toughest GT to race with. Everything you love about GTs in the past were likely made impressive with GT4. The graphics are amazing, the tracks beautiful, the challenge great, the competition was fierce. Come on now. Sim racing games aren't that hard and/or that boring. Even all our insiders and fans such as Croatia's Amar212, DiscoVolante, CobraGT, Alpha, even our beloved leader Jordan, have all contributed to new finds with GT4 for us to get proud about. They worked their asses off from places like E3, Tokyo Game Show, the Hong Kong deal, everything for us to get excited about. I know many people "lost interest" in GT4 and went to Forza, but I stayed with everything and I don't regret getting GT4. I don't regret my mother paying the $50 USD for me to enjoy this game as I have. Part 2 next post.
 
People. All these years. Many months. Pictures and videos. News updates. Gran Turismo 4 was, is, and probably will be the best racing game of the modern era. It may not be Forza in terms of certain cars, sounds, and (of course) online play, but GT still manages to be a solid title even without such things many people wanted. But if you think smashing cars in totally unrealistic racing is your deal, then sign up for Burnout 3. I said that Forza is a sim racer XBOX gamers have a chance to be proud of. But even then, I believe the Forza makers had respect for Gran Turismo and weren't out to kill it like HALO vs. Killzone.

Like I said, all this time. All these threads. All these posts. You stayed with the game, you loved the game when you got it, you still love to this day and wouldn't put it down for anything else... damn it to freaking hell. I'll be damned if GT4 doesn't get "Best Racing Game" honors, even for the reasons I mentioned. Do what Kent says- vote GT4 as the best racing game. It will probably be close between GT4 and Forza, but get Burnout 3 out of there. What's more important? Actual racing, or smashing the hell out of your car and others? Neither GT4 nor Forza are extremely difficult. At least these two games were about RACING. I never liked being crash happy with cars. I don't dream of ramming my sports car into an oil tank truck, and cause an explosion to blow up every car in the vincinity of the explosion. I played Burnout 2 before and it was fun while it lasted. If I'm playing a racing game, I want to race, not smash cars. So to make a long story short, forget delays and forget no online. GT4 should be the best racing game even with some of its shortcomings. No racing game is perfect, but Gran Turismo 4 is about as close to perfect with minor complaints aside.
 
For me, when I play Burnout, I never really only tried to damage the car unless I had too to get somewhere. Other than that, I would just race dodging cars and blocking opponents. Sometimes, I would smash the opponents, but when in Revenge or that.

I'll probably by the next Burnout in the series, b/c it provides for some fun racing.
But GT4 gives me more racing feel. Burnout is great for arcade racing, but in terms of just regular racing, GT4 takes it.
