this is gonna sound sooooo noob......
does the last b license test seem hard to gold for anyone else?? i breeeeezed thru the other 7, but the gold time for the last is something michal shumacher in his f1 might run :boggled:
Any one got any tips? im beginnin to get veeeery annoyed, and the demo is no help cos they did that with a wheel im sure of it. Curse the wheel that costs $300 over here in NZ!!

Before anyone even gets the chance to answer this, I'm telling you to change your signature. At that point, I'll open this thread back up and help you out.

Count this as your first warning. Two more and you'll be shown the door.

I'm pretty sure that the demo isn't done with a wheel, in fact, I think none of them are. Turn on the steering display in the demo to see. This test gave me some trouble to gold also. The key is turning into the last corner early. You can be behind the ghost and hit that corner right and still make gold. Make sure you use manual and shift when the RPM's hit the limiter, not the redline, it should gain you a few tenths 👍.

just for refrence, if driving a car without tuning or tranny upgrades up a hill (i.e beginning of this test) holding the gear to the rev limit (which can be done similarly in an auto by holdin R2/L2) will not improve speed as the revs drop lower than the torque "sweetspot" and when driving uphill this slightly scrubs off speed. This applies most heavily in this test when shifting from first to second, you will notice that the revs drop lower if you hold the gear. on the other hand, driving along a flat or downhill, it will give the opposite effect; the revs will drop perfectly into the peak of the torque curve.

not too bad for a 15 yr old aye? heh its just a pity my buttonwork isnt as good :boggled:

So, have you gotten it? For some reason I never had any trouble with this test, though a lot do. I've had plenty of trouble elsewhere, though.

With the Skyline in this test, you can really abuse the transmission on launch. Try launching off the rev limiter in first gear. If that's too much, and you spin the tires a lot, try a 'flash start' in first: idle through the countdown, and when the number '1' disappears, nail the throttle. If you time it right, the revs and boost are coming up as the brakes release, so you get a good solid launch. You can also try launching off the rev limiter in 2nd gear, possibly downshifting to first if the revs fall below about 3,000.

hmmm...thx neon, that might do the trick. im gettin sooooo close..at 1 stage i had fluked the whole first section and then hit the wall on the outside of the last turn. tht forced some nasty expletives out of my mouth, which i wont mention here due to aforementioned warning lol

w00t w00t i got it, and i whupped it too....i was fogetting that you cant have the throttle fully down around last corner unless u have it perfectly lined up....your flash start technique is awesome neon, i was gainin like a whole hundreth on my previous time with it! thanx for ur help. time for A license golds now..... *sob*
