Help me decide what car to buy for the summer

So, turns out i will have more money by the summer then i thought, so im thinking, maybe i should buy a Ferrari...

Which is your favourite of the ones in the picture?

Kinda depends what you're going to use it for.

In my opinion (which is often wrong):

1) If you fancy investigating crimes in Hawaii.
2) If you fancy solving crimes in Hawaii a little bit faster.
3) If you're likely to be taking to the track at all.
4) See above.
5) If you want a general all-rounder.
6) If you want to cross continents and not get out of your car with a crazy-straw spine.
6) If you want to cross continents and not get out of your car with a crazy-straw spine, get there quickly, and you also play golf.


I'd go for the 360 or 550.

Although for that sorta money, I'd be more inclined to look into a 575.

Schmee actually uses his R8 quite often, though. You're talking about using an old 90's Ferrari to gain attention, in which case, none of them outside the 360 or 550 will actually do it.
 
Well, if it's pictures that you're after, you might as well get one of the two pretty ones; which incidentally also happen to be two of the cheaper ones (that'd be 1 or 6).
 
550. Would be better to look at if it was a Barchetta Pininfarina though.
 
Ferrari 412, use the money you save to buy Daft Punk robot helmets and drive around with a friend listening to "Human After All" while head bopping. FaceAche will love it.
 
Get a Testarossa. Fantastic car all around. I got a ride in one once. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
 
1) How much are you willing to spend?
2) What matters to you? Looks, prestige, driving enjoyment, etc.
3)How much can you afford to pay to own the car? MPG, Insurance, etc.

Buy the car based off of that.

Depending on what he wants, I think other factors such as MPG and things of that nature should also be a factor based on his decision.

#1 if you want to turn heads but I would have #5 because I love the 360. Sporty fun car to drive (I'd imagine).
 
Go get a classic KPGC-10 if you have that much money they're worth it and thinking there's less than a thousand that's in mint condition adds even more candy.
 
I would go with the 550 Marenello good power and great lines.

On a serious note, we all know that when you buy an older Ferrari you also buy the large service costs that come with them.

3, 4 or 7 would be the ones worth getting... imo.

1 and 2 look to be 328s, I could be wrong... If they are, for some reason I always prefered the 308, I think its the chin spoiler on them, they are just more, cute-c, idk.

5, I have a 1:18 model of the 360 Modena, right behind me, from when I was a kid, I once loved the car. But now I personally I think it was the beginning of another dark era at Ferrari (which has now ended), learning how to use electronics, which they've now mastered.

6, I wouldn't touch a 412, not pretty, great engine, not interested in anything else.

With a 575M, manual of course, I think it'd make a fantastic tourer, its on the cusp of the bad era, but with none of the signs of impact, it might be one of the last before it went wrong (see 599).

Likewise for mid-engined cars, the F355, especially the Challenge version, might actually be collectable one day, the standard car, whilst beautiful and just as good (obviously in manual) in most ways, was too highly produced.

But my favourite, the car that still says to me 'Ferrari' its the one I instantly think of, the Ferrari 348.
Mid-engined, V8, the most beautiful of its era, I couldn't chose between a GTB or a GTS post 1993, both rare, beautiful, and fast (enough). I'm completely biased on this car, it'd be the one I'd have without question.

Think it was an independant.

The risk you run with cars like this is a sudden large bill that you can't really afford. Then you are stuck with a car you can't sell or use, which often leads to additional problems.
