I checked them out but it seems to be all euro. Do you know if they do Canada?
PakoHow cheap, and how good?
Gatorhosting, Godaddy, to name a couple that come to mind.
Godaddy has their funky rules ect, but if you are doing straight web hosting, they aren't too bad. I use them for a few things, from storage workspace accounts to even hosting a couple sites for my wife and daughter.
Send me a PM on some of your specific requirements and I'll see if maybe there is something else I could help you with.
Do you or anyone know if you can host a site off of cloud storage? I have Dropbox and other cloud storage and since it's just storage I assume you could convert it to run a site.
nick09That can't be done. At least in the sense that you are trying to have dropbox run your website. If you can hotlink images from the dropbox then that will save bandwidth on an actual website host. It's best to buy the domain from one host and have another use that domain and take care of the hosting. You don't want a company to sell you the domain and give you hosting. It's just good practice to avoid someone else owning the domain if you wanted to move from one website host to another.
I have heard this before a lot but don't really get why. Is it because a company will try to screw you into staying with them? I like google for domains because they let you use gmail as the email which is awesome but their domains are more expensive.
nick09It's because of scam deals of free domains with hosting. Those are registered with the company information and may trick you into paying a big fee to have it registered under you. Sites like 1and1.com are safe sites to get a domain from. So no matter what it's best to not put all of your eggs in the same basket.
