so right now im in the international A events with all the car's getting a bit harder to drive against, i bought a corvette ZR1 race car LM and was very very happy with it in the iB events, but now the competition is to strong and the corvette isent good enough in cornering (at least not with hard racing tyres)

so my question is this, since i have now 1,8mil. credits...wich car would you recommend? i was playing with the thought of buying the pagani zonda race car for 1mil. but then i saw on youtube that a lot of people recommend the McLaren f1 race car 95'....

help me plz :/ i dont wanna waste my credits..

The F1 GTR 95 or 97 are fantastic 650PP racers, but overpriced when you can get some amazing cars for a lot less.

As nowcontrol said, the Nissan GT-R R35 Touring Car is an absolute bargain at under 400k, it can be tuned to nearly 1000bhp and handles extremely well, needs a little tuning to be a bit sharper on the corners, but nothing major.

Buy this one anyway, because it's incredibly useful, plus it can be used in the GT-R One Make race at the Nordschleife, all the AI cars use the R35 TC.

You will eventually need an LMP for the 750PP races in S (the Le Mans and Spa races), so use this bargain to help you save up for a 2mill car (like the Speed 8 e.g.) and use it in all races that you can do, you'll soon make your money back.

ok, so il try the nissan GT-R R35 touring car in that case, i just thought i could buy 1 car now that would go a long way in iA and super..
and i still have absolutly NO idea how i should afford a historic race car (toyota 7 and so on) :D i was hoping so hard that i would get that car as a gift just like in gt5...

Get the Camaro Z28 Race Car. That should do those races at a bargain price as well, needn't buy a 4.5 million 2J or 20million Jag/Ferrari/Ford.

thx for your suggestions, i tryed the nissan GT-R R35 out and won already 2-3 events... its pretty good in handling i must say, and i still have the choice of upgrading all 3 slots of turbo and i think 2 slots of engine...so i "should" be able to win the "like the wind" event wich i hope will give me a gift-car similar to the toyota minolta...

il try out the camaro aswell, dident buy it yet but i will tomorrow or so...

Get a LeMans car. Whatever you do do not buy a FGT. It's worthless in GT6 with the pp cap against the AI.

RX-7 TC, I used it religously in the IA races.

then i used the mazda 787B for the big ones.

i have done most races with rotory.

i was very happy with the Minolta in GT5 so i bought that one again, still very good car, high pp and pk (i think one of the highest), and very good handling (after tune), but its not premium and i don't really like the way it looks, so i'm also still looking for a fast, goodlooking, premium car

If you want to do everything easily, buy an LMP car (Audi R8, Peugeot 905 or 908, Nissan R92CP or R89C, Mazda 787B or something like that), if you want a bit of a challenge you can buy an SLS GT3. I used my 15th anniversary edition a lot.
Just use the power limiter to pass the limits but you might have a hard time on the championship (I have 2 more challenges to go and then I'll do that with an LMP most likely).

thank you all for your suggestions but i think the fact of my budget was missed hehe... my current budget is at about 1,7mil. credits...so its not thaaaaat high, a mazda 787 simply is to expensiv, just as the minolta (wich i would love to have) so right now im driving the nissan GT-R R35 touring, and its fairly good but i think sometime in "super" it will come down to it to get a better car... i was thinking about the pagani zonda race car LM (for 1mil.) or something at about 2mil. or slighty above...

Easy way out is to buy the Formula GT for 2 million.

That's not really a good tip, because this car is almost nowwhere usable ofline in races, due of too high PP.

My suggestions for International B and A, buy a GT3 car (like Mercedes SLS GT3, Nissan GT-R GT3, Audi R8 LMS GT3) - they can have around 600 PP
For the championship going from International A to Super (and Super itself), you will need a Le Mans car, which can have 700+ PP.

GT3cars arent that expensive, but a Le Mans car will cost you 2,000,000 credits+

sounds like a plan, i already have a nissan GTR R35 touring... and its serving me very well in iA so far.. i dident use it thou in the "like the wind" event wich would be the make or break point..but getting a Le Mans car is gonna be sick, cos if i remember correctly some of the audi ones cost like at about 5,3mil.

I went for the same GTR Touring Car (after trying the very poor Z4 GT3). Then the Mercedes VGT, maxed out, for Like The Wind. The first event of Like The Wind was close with a Pescarolo right on my tail at the finish line. The other two Like The Wind events found the competition way back in the distance. I chose the Bentley Speed 8 for the GT World Championship and as my first LMP. Good car, easy wins except for the first race on Bathhurst and the AI's PIT maneuvering there.

Excluding the go carts, I've bought less than five cars. I just used all the prize cars from gold licences, Goodwood, and half/full stars. This has left me with 12 million credits after buying the Bentley. (I have the AE, but haven't used any except for the two seasonal races.)

Edit: The Bentley Speed 8 is 1.9 million from memory. I reduced the top speed from 400km/h to about 350km/h and added around 10% downforce front and back. Put front brakes to 6 and back to 4. It's a very forgiving car for an LMP, and it's also now a "premium" with a gallery mode and cockpit view.

...Which is why you use the power limiter + ballast. The GT World Championship requires at most 750 PP i believe. The FGT can drop down to that level while still remaining comfortably faster than any other competitor. That, and it's usable in the high end S class races like the Spa race.

I second the SLS AMG GT3. Look for a tune on the forums and it'll drive like it's got glue on its tires. Should set you back around 0.5 mil tuned :)

------------------
The R35 GT-R Touring Car will win any race that it is eligible to enter in IA and Super. [that means most of the races]

I mentioned in another thread that I bought a Honda Takata Dome as it was the best of it's type in GT5. I have used it successfully in International A in many races from 550PP to 650PP and it destroys all comers. 550PP requires 50% power reduction.
Anyway 'Nowcontrol', after reading your post I bought the R35 GT-R thinking it may be even better. And it is, pricewise, under $400,00 compared to the Takata at $900,000.

But that is where the similarity ends. The R35 failed miserably at 550PP when compared to the Takata. Not saying it can't win at 550PP, just that you have to work at it (admit I only did a single lap with it) but no opposition cars catch me in the Takata whereas overtaking opposition cars in the 35 takes much longer.

Of course the tune may be all important here, I had it at 170kg heavier than the Takata, using high turbo.

I couldn't win the 1st race in Like the Wind with it and so bought the Minolta for my 'race car'.

The Mercedes-Benz AMG VGT is a free car and quite easily does the "Like the Wind" events besides other events, save your credits for the big purchase :)

Do the Goodwood events, you get given the LCC Rocket (or just buy it). It can do pretty much every 650pp event. For some of the 750 stuff I used the Deltawing, very fast but kinda expensive and odd to drive.

Actually never thought of using the AMG. Won the 2nd and 3rd races in Like the Wind easily with my Ford GT however the 1st one I couldn't manage, that was when I bought the Minolta as I knew I'd need it eventually anyway.

Wouldn't change the Takata though, it's just too good. Anyway thanks for the heads up, Bee Bee.

perhaps the reason why i dont have as many gift car's as probably most people on this forum is becaus i dont have my ps3 connected to the internet but im playing it "old school"... i actually even bought the anniversay edition wich would give you a fair amount of really good car's right from the start without you having to use 1 credit and it gives you 1mil. if i remember... (the reason why i bought the anniversary edition is cos i wanted to "support" the gt franchise ;) )
so yeah... the car's that i did get as a gift car are fairly "medium"... like the lotus race car '94 and another japanese one that i can't think of the name right now... anyway...

im hoping to make some more money cos i still dident do some events that i could finish, like the kart's and some other ones where i hope that the G35 will win them for me...

I would gladly trade my 1mil code for the AE paint chips :P

I was in this exact same dilemma, I went with the GTR R35 TC. I'm not entirely sure as to what Dalone is talking about because I easily won in the 550pp races with detuning. The key is to first put stock engine, stock turbo, then split the rest between power and weight. I also successfully used it in 600 and 650 races. Furthermore, it is competitive in Like the Wind.

alright... i just finished the iA event (without the kart and rainmasters that i have to get done soon) and i now have at about 3.3mil credits... i was kinda thinking of buying the McLaren F1 racecar but was unsure...since looking at the astranomical price of 4mil. for the speed 8 bently i was thinking that there must be a better solution to the super events

For me, there was only one car for me: The Chapparal 2J. Yes it is expensive at 4.5Mill but, damn, is it a good car. Set for a top speed of 286mph (no idea how I came to that figure...maybe it's adjustable top speed) it obliterates the competition in Like The Wind (won the SSX10 event by, I think, 15 or 20 seconds) as well as most other events using Race Cars of that level (even with the high top speed) thanks to it's high levels of grip (close to the Red Bulls in terms of grip level). Only downside to the car, besides the cost, is that it has no headlights, so makes it rather difficult in night races.

Incidentally, the Nissan GT-R R35 TC is a phenomenal car (as I'm sure you are aware). It can be used in the first 4 or 5 Super Races (Willow, Suzuka, Silverstone etc) and can win quite comfortably. Haven't tried it against any higher level race cars so no idea on that.
