Alright, I've been wanting a proper gaming PC for a while and finally pulled the trigger on a pre-built PC that I feel I got a good deal on. This is what I have...

After my buddy discount and Law Enforcement discount it took me for a little under $400 (brand new) but I know it will need some things to be a good PC rig. My problem is I know nothing about building a PC but you guys seem to be very knowledgeable about this subject so I'm asking for your help.

I'd like to be able to run BF3 and newer FPS games as well as pretty much all racing sims. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Thank you. I wasn't sure if this was the correct forum or not. I'll see if a mod can move it for me.

Seeing as I'm in the thread... there's no point trying to salvage it. The FX-6150 is a bad processor by 2012 standards (even though it came out in 2011. That's how big of a turd Bulldozer is) and the Radeon 7450 is laughably weak. 1GB of DDR3 memory accessed via a 64-bit PCIe 2.1 bus? Good lord.

A 'gaming' machine is impossible for under 500 unless you build it yourself.

Yeah, sorry, but I concur with Sharky. If you can return that PC I would recommend doing so and we'll gladly help you spec a self build (which is basically like big Lego, it's really not as difficult as some people make it out to be).
