Lastly I have been posting in order to choose a wheel purchase. Here is a poll with the feasible options. I am not in a budget, but I do not like spend much money. I do not consider the Clubsport pedals because recently there was a package: GT3 + CBS pedals + shifter for ~320€, so now, I would feel a bit cheated paying 380€ without shifter...

Thank you very much for read and vote.

Well since fanatec seems to always be out-of-stock, it never really made much sense for them to run a special ever in the 1st place. Maybe Fanatec did that cause they had nooooo idea whatsoever their products would be in extreme demand.

Anyway on topic--- yeah I cant help you decide... Truth be told I'm sure all of them are great wheels in their own way. But personally if i had to choose between Logitech and Fanatec I'd probably choose Fanatec cause yeah, everyone probably wants Fanatec to succeed. It's just better for the industry overall if Fanatec remains out of stock cause they will encourage more folks to make high quality wheels :D Then again, I'm still waiting on that fanatec gt2 wheel myself so it would be nice if they at least kept keep up a little better with demand. So I hope you know what i mean here...

Anyway if you search forums you'll find many reasons already by owners of both wheels that can help you decide

well if you plan on staying with the standard pedals forever, go for the G27. but if eventually you will upgrade, go with the gt3 rs v2.

Thrustmaster T500

Yeah that's what I'm currently using; I can vouch its totally amazing 👍

Before the T500 I was using a DFP I borrowed from a friend (1st wheel I ever used). It used to wobble alot and would not remain straight when I let go of a wheel. I thought it was a bug until I searched the forums here. I returned the wheel to my friend thinking it was broken but we had a DFGT owner come by to verify that's the same behavior he got

Anyway, I ended up trying out a T500RS and fell in love. I can let go of the wheel on a straightway and it behaves like I expect. I love the pedals.

Let's put it that way, DFP, etc probably have a learning curve I expect. A T500RS has a small learning curve (or zero) cause it behaves closer to a real wheel

Unfortunately, a T500RS is still priced at $549 and the packages you are choosing is $300 range. A T500RS would be a big $250 price jump for you and reading your initial comments and poll (not being listed)--- reason why I'm saying a guy like me would probably not be much help. Since I had a bad initial experience with Logitech. I'm sure it's a great wheel but I'm saying for a nub like me there is a slight learning curve. With my T500RS, there was no dramatic learning curve. I was coming in 1st on races I normally ace with a d3 pad. With a Logitech DFP/DFGT, I was coming in dead last for many hours. Eventually I would've gotten better but it didnt quite match up to the behavior I expected with a real wheel. So I wonder if a g27 would behave the same way? If so, I'd probably pass on that if I were you and go with the Fanatec which has an adjustable deadzone at the very least.

So my 2 cents from my albeit limited experience for $300 range:
I'd probably go with the Fanatec

If you can go over $300 range:
Then try to compare a Fanatec vs T500RS if at all possible. Only 1 game works fully tho- GT5. I have to play Shift2-PC on my PC along with other games til other game devs catch up

edit- I'm going to vote other for now, but perhaps the g27 is more accurate than the DFP being more expensive, etc (others will know a lot more than me in that regard)

The only problem I find them is the pedals, they tend to break... (seems to me)

Yeah that's something to consider. My friend's DFP was many years old (from GT4!) and was stored in a closet. And the pedals and everything still worked! Logitech impresses me with their customer service, return programs, discounts, and avaliability (well at least DFGT is available the higher end wheels are extremely rare)

I do actually played with the T500Rs, its actually a bit priced compared with the g27 or the fanatec, but tin my opinion it is not better than the g27, i don't like the FFB in the t500, is too smooth for a race car, and its bad quality of wheel and the metal part inside the wheel is a feeling of something too "cheap", if i where you, and if you think of building a cockpit, bet to buy is a G27 and modify it, if you are not going to do so, buy a g27 or a fanatec GT3rs v2 with CS pedals.

I would do it, but It seems to me a rip-off and a fraud that recently there was Clubsport edition wich cost 320$, and it included pedals and shifter!

Think like this, if you want a very strong FFB and wheel reaction, buy a G27, if you want something more smoother buy a fanatec, this is for wheel.

For pedals, club sport pedals may be the best, don't know i never tried them, but i think that for the price of the CS pedals and shifter you could get a G27, modify it's shifter for heavier resistance, add a handbrake to it and even get a perfect pedal, the best brake in the market nowadays.

So a lot of options, think what you want from you set.

What game did you play with the T500RS? I've noticed even though its marked as the official wheel for GT5, polydigital has failed to truly exploit the wheel. In gt5 at max FFB its still way weaker and less detailed than the advanced physics calculations you'll get on the average PC racing sim.

Unfortunately, the t500rs is more of a PC wheel than a console wheel atm until other game devs step up (PD has not stepped it up in this regard)

@OP: Anyway these guys have access to all the wheels (including fully modified g25/g27s): http://www.insidesimracing.tv/videos/view/418/0/Thrustmaster

Click on the top 2 films (wheel buying guide + T500RS review). They fully test the wheels with all available games (iRacing, GTR Evo, rFactor, GT5, etc)

I do not understand the spoken english very well, but they say that the best option quality/money is GT3+CSP pedals, but considering that in Europe they cost 380€+shipping (25€+380€=405€) (a huge diference with $) and I can get the T500RS for 455€ (incld. shipping)...

So there is no intermediate option but the g27 (280€, incld. shipping), but I think that in 1 year it could be outdated... And I have heard that there are compatibility problems with GT5.

Thanks for repliying, indeed.

I played it with gt5 only, but when i say smooth FFB is not about its force is more about is aggressive will playing, the G27 is more sharp will playing, it reacts with more strong to the street, manly because the T500 is a belt drive and the g27 is a connection between the motors and wheel much more direct. the only thing g27 has that is really bad is the tons of noise it makes will going through dirt or a curb, it shakes the wheel so much that it became annoying at a certain point.

I really like ISR but those guys do make a lot of publicity to products not everything is true or at least fully sincere in their comparisons with products.

@nmd Thanks for the explanation. Never used a g27 myself. Regarding ISR, I trust them for the most part however- they are PC sim racers at heart from what I can tell. So their overall opinion might be skewed towards PC. But they did admit they felt T500RS was more a PC wheel atm and I agree with them. Fanatecs and Logitechs are much better for overall console gaming.

@OP that sucks I thought Fanatec had a local warehouse so shipping would be cheap? Anyway good luck with your decision you seem to be on the right track :dopey:
