Help Needed Desperately!!!

I few hours ago I lost 7 Months of GT3 data, caused I think by my replay device which is a Joytech Harder Drive2. Over the last few months I have backed the Game data up to my hard drive (with no apparent problems) and have several back-ups on file...problem is they won't load either. The PS2 file manager seems to recognise the data fine but the game itself refuses to load the info. "Failed to load" is all I get. The way I see it, the data must still be OK but the Joytech unit must not be able to rewrite the gamefile correctly. Replays are not affected in any way, they still load fine as always. If anyone can offer any words of wisdom or any help in any way, it will be greatly appreciated. This also seems only to affect GT3 game data as other game data is unaffected. I'm sure you can imagine my dismay, a lot of time has gone into this game (48 golds, bulk cars all set to go, trophies etc) and without my garage my OLR will come to a halt. I can be reached at drewyvette@hotmail.com or post a reply here or around the traps...thanks in advance,
Cheers P.H. :(

Hmm... I am far from an expert, and this isn't based on any fact.

But, I often end up gettin' the shaft and being the bearer of bad news.

You are most likely SOL - I've never heard of any utility to repair a damaged save game.

Probably my only suggestion would be to download the hybrid program, see if it will load your garage and if it will, re-save the garage.

If that still won't work, uhh... perhaps (using the utility again), reload the garage and export each car individually. Then, you'd have to start a new game (thus losing all your licenses and that jazz - but the game is alot of fun, and since you earned 'em once, you can just get bronzes for 'em again and maintain dignity).

Once you start a new game, save it again, and then using the hybrid thing, load in all your exported cars.

Basically, you are stuck somewhere between losing everything (worst case) or just reading your garage in, re-save with the hybrid program and everything works great (best case)

If the hybrid program won't load your garage? Hmm... You my friend have my sympathy.

I don't know what the Joytech Harder Drive2 is - seems to be it's a type of big memory card - (is that right?) - I checked around a bit and this is what I could come up with.

Thanks for the suggestions mate, but I've been saved thanks to a mates game save with a garage full of cars for now. The joytech does the same job as an X-port. Joytech have my game save already and are looking into it for me now. Still think I'll buy an X-port anyway, so as I'm compatible with everybody else...haven't found many other users with a Harder Drive 2 thats for sure!!!! Cheers ;)

Well the verdict is in....Joytech's official explanation is that the version (V1.1) I bought is not compatible with GT3. Might have been handy to know that before I bought one (and recommended the unit to others). They have a version 1.2 that is fully compatible, so if anyone out there has a Harder Drive check your version before you upload a GT3 save to your Memory Card.
Look out X-port, here I come!

cheers :burnout:

Ack - even worse, they've just thrown you to the wolves? They won't cut you a deal on an upgrade?

But you might be best just cuttin' your losses and going and getting the X-port - That's been shown time and again that it works great.
