When using the internet, I get hit with a blue screen. It tells me that there were some sort of fatal exceptions:

Fatal Exception OE
0028:C00315DA

or:
Fatal Exception OE
0028:C168E32D in VXDMSTCPCOID4...

then I hit enter, returns to windwos but with no internet conenction. A restart solves the problem, but this hapens every 10 minutes of internet surfing...

Any help?

Windows 98
Basic Cable internet (128kbps)

Righty... Std. W98 stuff...

Have you, my friend, updated your M$ package lately ?.. Try Windowsupdate - that may be a start... Do you have a proper adware / malware / spyware program on you box ?.. I recommend that you install Ad-Aware which comes in a free version.. Run that once or twice a week... Third - Are you using proper protection ?.. if not, I recommend that you buy (YES - BUY) NOD32 which is by far THE AV program to use !... If you can't be bothered to pay for an AV program, try AVG from GriSoft which isn't exactly all that bad (Quite good actually)...

HTH and all that jazz !

Okay, that's a good start.

I have Spybot and AdAware, and run them about once of twice a month.
I have I used to have AVG, but it didn't last too long on my computer. I think I downloaded the trial version and it promptly expired.
I DO use Zone Alarm Pro all of the time.

I scanned for updates to Win98 and there aren't any critical ones, but I'll pick up the next level ones, which there are 41 of...
Thanks. If there's anything else anyone can do to help, it'd be appreciated.

AVG comes in a free version for personal use.... They've just released version 7..

Anyway - I recommend exchanging the crappy old W98 for a W2000... Even if you only have 256Mb of ram, you'll be a lot better off !....

I've been begging my parents to upgrade to another computer (this one is really aging) or pick up Windows XP. That means I'd also be able to use my iPod without using a friend's computer...
The 41 updates were mostly language tools for websites, but anything else that looked remotely important, I picked up.

EDIT: wow, that first bit makes me look soooooo spoiled. Ignore.

Bad news.

No fix.

Sometimes it jsut cuts the internet without even telling me... But the blue screens till pops up frequently.

Any help, anyone?

'nough said.

geez... at least yors actually spits out garbage before the bsod... Mine just proceeds to restart. I loveeeee.... yes... love bsod's! :dopey:

You can make Windows stop on errors so you can see what type of error it was and the memory dump.

Control Panel > System > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > uncheck "Automatically Restart"

Sounds like a resource exhaustion issue.

Try using a different browser, and see if that helps.
