I cant get past the first few tests on the I-A licence (the wet circle track ones) I do ok like 2 seconds too slow. Also even in GT2 i never could get the S licence. Are there any tips anyone could give me to help me out on getting the higher harder licences?! :D

For the circle tests, just stay as close to the inside as you can without drifting out towards the outside. Keep a constance throttle possition by getting the technique down on the pressure sensitive controller if you are using one.

One key that will really help is watch the Demo's over and over before doing a lisence test and study what lines and what speeds/rpm's and braking the AI uses. Try to mock this as much as possible and set a good time, from there just do it over and over untill your thumbs bleed and keep trying to beat your ghost. It will happen eventually.

I do that but.....I'm not good at copying what the AI does because its AI and not human so it can do anything it wants....that me (human) cant do...:(

Have you tried playing in the other viewpoint? I found that when I switched from 3rd person to cockpit view, my handling got better. I also recall switching to the sticks from the Dpad gave me a little more control.
Also, throttle your acceleration on some of the tight turns, rather than braking.
I dont recall if ASM and TCS can be turned off in Licenses? Anyway, turn them off in your Options. Should give you added speed.

As already stated, watch the demo and use your ghost.

HTH

When I do the circle tracks, I leave the car in one gear lower, running at a higher rpm. It doesn't matter which car, they all pulled better for me this way.

I already do all of the above.

Are you trying for gold, or just to get the licenses?

I only did what I had to do during the game in order to progress. Now that I've gotten to 100%, I'm going back for golds.

I haven't retried the wet tracks, but I did do the dry skidpad tests recently. Try launching in 2nd gear. Keep it tight to the curb in 3rd gear, with the wheels turned hard in, and steer with the throttle. As you approach the end of the last lap, ease on more gas and less steering, and let the car track out over the last little bit to pick up speed.

At the launch, don't smoke or spin the tires. If you hear constant tire squel, you're accelerating too hard. If done right, you gain over two car lengths over the AI.

If that doesn't help, then you just plain suck. But don't worry, you'll get better. You just got the game, didn't you? It takes time to get use to.

Took me forever to do the smaller wet circle. I just modulated controlling the gas, brake and turning and I copied the AI. IA-1 was probably the hardest test i've ever done. No matter what, it spun....IA-2 was completed in 3 tries (bronze) no problem , yet I spent at least an hour and a half trying to bronze IA-1.

I always thought that it was a human behind the license demo recordings?

The AI is so crappy it can't drive that well.

It is a human recording. You can tell if you watch the replay with the steering and throttle/brake telltales turned on. Most of the steering inputs are twitchy, just like a human driving with a DS2 contoller.

Do the test, save your replay. The next time you do it, load the replay as a ghost. Learn from mistakes, and you will gradually improve your time. Compare your driving to the demo on the analyzer at times. This is the same strategy that got me all golds on everything but the Super licence (got 4 gold, 4 silver, working on getting silvers to golds). Gradual improvement is the key. Skill helps, too...

basically, the two things that i concentrated on were to watch the demo every time i finished and lost the tests (all of them), and the other thing was to watch my ghost and i always tried to get ahead of him. it really works to have something putting pressure on you like that...

High On Life - I'm confused...there are no wet circle track tests in the IA (International A) license. I'm assuming you're referring to the A license?

Anyway, when I finished the A licenses, I thought wow those are pretty tough, especially the circle track ones. And guess what, there's more in the IB license tests!

Like the others have said, it takes practice. The Missing Link's guide does help. I was planning on referring to it alot to get the IA license figuring I'll shoot for gold and hopefully end up with at least bronze as I just wanted to pass. I ended up only referring to it maybe 3 times, but the advice of rapid tap, throttle control, and watching the demo from 1st person viewpoint with speedometer and accel/braking meters turned on really helped. I'm just glad I don't need gold to get the licenses but eventually I'll use that guide to unlock those cars. Just don't feel like doing it now.

One last thing I want to add...pay attention to the "gear suggestion" (the red flashing number as you approach a turn next to your gear in MT) Although sometimes you may get better results not using the gear that is suggested, it does at least act as a good guide as to when you need to downshift and the gear you should be in.

I got the IA license tests in one try it was hard though. Also the gt2 s license it's hard but it took me a year to get it.The IA my strategy was to do about one lap without braking. Also if your taking about the corvette circle track it's the IB license.

I still havent gotten that licence...then again i havent play GT3 in like 4 months...I've been playing Tokyo Xtreme Racer Zero instead but its just not the same...MAybe When i find the time i'll get back to GT3 but for now i have Exams to study for.

Hi there,
Would like to know if anyone knows of any way to get the International A licence in an easier fashion "cheat codes" etc. I've been trying to get the licence for 5 years by retaking and retaking the test and still no luck. Bought the GT manual and it's not really of much help.
thanks everyone.

keep trying and trying, you'll get it. The secret to the circle tests is throttle control. Try not to use the brake. Though if you get out of line and start heading for the outside curb tap the brake (tap it, don't stand on it) and let off the gas to get the nose back in line. You should control the car with bursts of throttle.

Another tip is to start the corvette in 2nd off the line, you'll spin the tires less and get up to speed quicker (this is a good tip for any FR car 400hp+).

Keep at it, the circles are annoying but they do teach throttle control, especially the wet ones.
