hey im having trouble with the lvl 20 dirt race for rally special event. im using the lancia delt s4 rally car. but i seem the have such slow imes compared the ai.i get like +15 sec from everyone else.

does anyone have any tips?

I saw the title and I was going to tell you to use the Lancia Delta S4 but your already using it, I don't understand how that's happening I mean with 450BHP stock you should be feeding them your dust I was getting no less than 4 second leads on all opponents and sometimes I'd even get 25 second leads

Tune it up, put skid control on and floor it. I won each event on level 20 with the s4 by at least a minute.

I won all the events using the C4 WRC that I got from the Sebastian Loeb Challenge. Just put a low peak turbo and its just as fast (maybe faster) than all the other AI there. :p
Another thing to note is, avoid hitting the walls. Cost me like 7+ seconds on one of the stages!!! Luckily I managed to claw back those lost times and won the event by several seconds...

What ?? You can't win using mighty power lancia delta s4? I won every single track with that car having not less than 15 seconds advantage on stages. So the car is not the problem, but maybe your driving technique.

At first i was not able to compete with Sebastian Loeb challenge, but after WRC events i went to Loeb challenges and did them all to Gold without any problems. Try to go slow and you will go fast.

Try to go slow and you will go fast.
This is very true. Don't try to push like crazy and slide everywhere. Take the corners calmly and try not to slide too much (a little slide is ok but more and you will see your car dropping a lot of speed). I tried to slide very little when I was doing these challenges (snow I tried not to slide at all).

Well it depends... sliding can actually be faster if you know how. I try to slide as much as I can on dirt or snow to link through the corners faster as well as slowing down just enough to "drift" around the inside of the turn. 👍

Well yeah, learn how to properly use the "slow in, fast out" technique and you can gold the events easily. Also if your not sure where is the braking point, keep an eye on the red braking indicator. (beside the gear number) When the indicator blinks you can assume where the braking point is, and what gear your supposed to take the corner in. Just my .02cents here... :)

make sure traction control is off

This.

I was struggling with the rally events, and then realised I hadn't changed the settings from a previous race.

With the traction control off the car won't bog down and it allows you to use the throttle to adjust your line and exit. Personally I don't get on with the skid recovery as I feel I am always fighting against the car and second guessing the slide or wheel spin.

yeah same that skid recovery is a pain in the a** for me

Its easy with the delta s4. All driving aids off and as mentioned take the corners slowly you can slide but do it carefully and controlled. The only stage that i didn't get a massive lead on is the gravel but overall i was still 45 seconds over the AI.

I used the Delta S4 for the dirt event and it does tend to struggle to get up to speed when exiting slow corners, which cost me up to 6 seconds on some of the stages.

I decided that when it told me to be in 2nd gear for a slow corner, I just put it in 1st gear instead. this helped me gain more speed though some of the corners and I didn't end up losing time at the end of each stage.

The S4 does struggle on the dirt course, but murders on the snow and tarmac. It took me a few tries, but I did do the dirt course with the S4, with stage 2 turbo I believe.

I used the S4 and lengthened the gears so it topped out at about 180mph. This made 2nd gear easier in the corners, and you gotta be slown in, fast out, really.

I was really struggeling with the sx4 wrc on gravel. More bumping around than smooth driving. It felt like there was no steering reaction.

But on ice the sx4 rocks so much. In the end i was 3min in front.
On gravel just 6seconds, and this was only luck i think.
