I am hoping someone can help me out with Update 1.12. I have been trying to get this update to install since it was released with no luck. I have tried deleting the game data, the saved game data, went through every option available on Safe Startup, wireless downloads, hardwired downloads, individual download for each of the past 12 (now 13 updates) and NOTHING corrects the problem. At one point I thought my PS3 was fried so I purchased a new one and the same thing happened again (hardwired for the updates only on that unit)

The list of issues I have had are extensive but I now seem to have the same issue consistently, saving the data upon completion of a race. When I finish a Seasonal Event and exit out of the replay it goes into the GT6 logo and never moves from there. After waiting more than an hour (initially) I tried quiting the game and I get a double beep and a completely unresponsive console, requiring me to unplug the unit to get it to do anything.

The only thing I haven't tried yet is starting all over and not using the saved game data. Is it possible that data is messing up the game somehow? I don't have any replays, photos, etc., just progress in the game. GT6 is really the only game I play, I did put in another couple of games and they both played fine this is a GT6 only issue and it all started with the 1.12 update. They took an enjoyable game and turned it into a wad of garbage, at least in my experience.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

If you have a USB flash drive copy the game save to it. Delete the game save from the PS3.
Try the install again.
If all works fine. Somehow your save got corrupted. If not, your discount data is corrupt, and you could try exchangeing the game.
Also if you don't have a USB try it on another account.

That's It, I'm done with this game!!!! Tried everything imaginable and NOTHING works. I don't have endless hours available to delete and reload a piece of garbage update multiple times in the hope that this time it will all work out.

Thanks for nothing PD.

I saw something somewhere not to sign into PSN, then start GT6, and then the update. I thought some were having problems with this method before. Resolution was to not sign into PSN, Start the game first then let it do it's update. You might try that and see if it works. Have you called SONY and asked them? You can live chat with them at playstation.com. It might be your ISP as well. I had all sorts of problems with Time Warner and not being able to sign in to PSN. I called SONY, they said Time Warner has problems with their DNS servers and SONY helped me switch over to GOOGLE DNS servers. I have not had a problem since. GOOGLE DNS servers are primary 8.8.8.8 and secondary 8.8.4.4. Not sure if it will help this problem or not but it wont hurt to try.

Also there is a PS3 update. 4.65. Might help.

Have your check your GT6 disc for scratches on the silver side of the disc and that maybe why you are having issues.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I had already updated the PS3, there are no scratches or marks on the disc. It is strictly an update issue that has me baffled.

Along the way just about anything that could happen has happened while working on this over the last 3 weeks. Initially I believe the problem was my router got fried during a thunder storm (PS3 was wireless and plugged into a Monster Power Protector so impact from the storm with the unit), the router continued to work but the VPN I use for work kept going in and out for a couple days, replaced router and VPN was good but the PS3 issues continued.

I must have downloaded the update at least 20 times (maybe more) trying all sorts of different scenarios, logged in to PS Network, not logged in, wireless, wired, through game, through X Bar, tried every option under Safe Start up to and including reformatting the HDD (using both the quick and full options). The power saver option kicked in during two of the updates and a brief power flicker caused another aborted download. I am now on the last thing I can think of to try, bypassing the router all together and plugging the cable modem directly into the PS3 without being logged into PS Network from the Xbar. I was thinking if all of this started when the router failed and the only thing different is the router, maybe it's something with my new router. I am in the middle of the install will let you all know what happens.

Took some pictures and video of some game action this morning where the track turned into a river, complete with reflections of the trees in the Seasonal event at Spa. Will try to post them later, this is the weird stuff I have been having happen in addition to the issue with saving upon completion of an event.

Ugh!!!!

That will be good if you can provide us with some pictures and a video of your issue. 👍
