I have just saved up for and bought the BMW v12 LMR race car, which took me ages through doing the Special Conditions Easy, winning the Toyota Rally Raid car, then selling it for 265,000 and redoing the race around 14 times over!

This is where the problem starts.....

I decided to tune my v12 bmw further, cranking the hp right up to 996, and then came across the 'Other' sub section of the tuning options a tuning part called 'Increase Rigity', Cr.30,000 (do not confuse with the 'Rigity Refersher Plan'). Thinking it would be great, I bought it and equipped it. First race back, my BMW V12 is skidding all over the place, virtually uncontrollable, and acceleration has been diminished also, along with handling which makes me beleive this tuning part is held responsible. It destroyed my seemingly brilliant car and turned it into a terrible wreck. My question overall is: (and would be EXTRemely, and I mean extremely grateful if you showed my how) is their a way to de-customise this nightmarish part, as it is simply useless, and it made me very angry. This would be grosely unfair if Sony designed this game so you could not DE-Customise parts already equipped.

Thanks (and hoping for reply soon),

Tom:)

Wrong. The rigidity increase can not, I repeat, can not, be removed. As unfortunate as it is. It's a permanent modification to the chassis, not something that can be taken out.

But there's the silver lining on every dark cloud. Usually the car can be tuned to be softer, basically compensating for the flexing the chassis once had by making the springs and dampers flex instead of the chassis. Soften the entire car and see if it helps.

And to add to what greycap has said, other things that DEFINITELY can't be taken off after they've been fitted are:

Weight Reduction.
Port & Polish.
Engine Balancing.

I think Displacement aswell. :dunce: Can't remember.

But yeah, I used to be a fan of the rollcage, but it's only really needed if your car behaves really softly and sloppily on the racetrack, and you can compensate for it with a slightly stiffer suspension.

Plus B-Spec Bob is expendable.......let him become a sardine in a BMW Can hitting the wall at the end of the Le Sarthe II straight. :D

The 'cage FORCES you to have a PERFECT suspension setup for it to corner well, with it as balanced out as possible.

In other words, it's a pain.

@ the topic creator: If you need a comfortable Group C/LMP, buy a Mazda 787B for 3,500,000 new or with the next set of Black Beauties. Add R2 tires, and use my 787B Enduro tune on it, with TCS at 5 if you prefer to be able to just mash the throttle in any gear.
