I have a PC at work. Recently, my manager turned off my internet without telling me. It's been about 2-3 weeks now and I'm completly stumped as to how he turned it off, and how I can turn it back on.

I spend all my free time at work browsing through my connection settings and properties, and cant seem to find the button or checkmark that will turn it back on.

I can connect to our office's network (all the PC's around me, so I can connect to the program we all use and your server) but no internet.

Anyone have any ideas? Simple suggestions please?

The only thing I can think of is that in my IP properties/settings, the IP adress is blank and the box is checked that says "automatically detect IP".

No. Like I said, I can still connect to our office network, so it's not "unplugged". It isn't a wireless connection either.

I'm smart enough when it comes to these things, so I would have thought to check the plug origionally, but right now I'm stumped.

I would ask your boss to give back teh Internet connection, but if he thinks it's a distraction, then oh well, you're stumped.

Yes. As a matter of fact, everyone else does, including the boss. He is kind of "picking" on me right now. A few weeks ago I overheard him laughing with another worker silently about how he turned off my internet. I managed to fix it myself, but then it turned off out of no where, and I don't know what happened.

yes, I am allowed to do so, everyone else does, everyone at my office has time in their day to do so, none of us (or most of us) are 100% busy all day.

Well, he may think it's a distraction, but it really isn't. I can still work while browing the internet just fine, and I also have time to do some browsing , like some points in the day I need to check my bank account, email, or etc.
