is there any way to remove the table clamp from the g25 steering wheel unit? i use a cockpit so i have no need for a clamp. i have them tightened all the way up but i still hit them with my legs all the time. i even scraped my legs once getting into my cockpit in a hurry.

im hopping there is a way to do this without having to saw it off.

Not sure on how to remove them but the bottom of the clamp has a piece on it that can be taken off to alow the clamp to move up more, also how thick is the cockpit that the wheel is bolted to if it'Feb 04 2008, 8:35 PM #12

Yours arrived today, mine got rapped today.

It stopped working last week and today I called Logitech's technical support and after some questions they told me to destroy the wheel and wanted a picture of the wheel detroyed with my personal data written on a papper to prove it was mine

I had fun smashing it thought

In about 2 weeks time I hope I get my new G25
s real thick you could try notching it out a little.

Try PMing dark_ruffo he had to destroy a g25 wheel to get a replacement maybe he kept it and can open it up to answer your question.

Picture and text is under (Gran Turismo5)(G25 and GTP) post #12

You'll need to open the wheel to remove the the table clamp.

You can see here why:

That piece marked with the number one stops you from unscrewing the table clamp completely without opening the wheel.

After opening the wheel and unscrewing the bolt, remove the piece marked with the number two to remove the clamp easier.

Thanks for the picture dark. Glad you saved the old wheel others might have more questions like this. Did you ever get your replacement wheel yet?

Yeah, I got it 4 days after I made the call. I called on monday and the wheel was knocking my door on friday. Two thumbs up for Logitech.

im in the process of removing it. i have already detached the clamp but it seems the top plastic dial wont ever come off. it will rattle when in use since its just sitting there. and there is no way to fully open the wheel without damaging the unit right
