I wanna know what going on with my computer screen, I've left it on for about 2 hours, and then I went to play the PS2. As soon as I turn arounf my whole computer screen has turned all pink in tint, anyone who knows how to fix this, please respond ASAP! 👎

Set your hair on fire and dance around with a chicken at the full moon.

Seriously, you might want to see if your monitor has a "degauss" function. You can access it through the menu you'd use to change the size/position of the screen. That might work.

 Damnit, its still all pinkish! This is quite annoying. Anyone really know how to fix this?!

"pinkish", would you call it magenta? Perhaps the blue and / or green signals aren't getting to the monitor from the computer. Make sure the cable is plugged into the computer real good (should have a couple screws holding it there).

And restart the computer.

Maybe somehow the balance between red, green and blue in the menu has changed...have a look.......they should all be equal.....If they are you could counteract it by increasing the other colours......

If that doesnt work, turn it off and leave it for a couple of hours, or overnight...computer things have a way of healing themselves!......

Not to upset you or anything but........the last time I saw a pink screen.....it was time for the monitor to see the scrap heap!

Good Luck, Robin

Like LoudMusic said--wiggle the cables, and look at the screen. You may have a weak connection. In fact, I am almost completely sure you do.

Although, I used to have an old monitor that would overheat and turn a yellowish tint if you left it on for too long. Maybe turn it off for a while and let it cool off?

EDIT: Looks like Robin beat me to it.

You know, it could just be a piece of junk. They do go out from time to time, like Robin said. I've thrown away plenty at work for this.

Damnit..........I really need to get a new screen? Well, I guess I can ask for one on christmas, well, I guess I need to do my homework all in pink.

It won't print in pink... :odd:

Hold on, you haven't picked a pink windows colour scheme have you?

You'll just have to call your monitor Molly Ringwald. I'm sure it's pretty in pink... sorry, I'll get me coat

Na I thought I was hallucinating when I looked at the screen, but after looking at the TV screen, then looking at the Computer screen, I came to the conclusion that its definately the computer screen not my eyes.

If you bash the top of the monitors at my school they change to a yellow tinit colour. It's funny to go round the whole classroom doing it before you have an ICT lesson then watch the teacher as they get bombarded with complaints about "funny looking" screens.

But anyways, make sure you don't get a TFT if you're going to get a new monitor. They still aren't up to par with CRTs yet.

I think your monitor just plain ole went bad. Do yourself a favor and take it to another computer and see if it's still pink. If it is, then your going to have to get a new one. Also see if you can get ahold of another cable and try to use that. You have to rule out the possibilities.

My old 19" monitor is doing the same thing. Right now I have it on dual screen, and the crt keeps changing colors. The tint goes from green, to blue, to a really bright green, and it has scan lines. After that, it goes dark, then really light. Sometimes it's just plain green and nothing else. It's a crazy monitor, I really need to trash it.

Here is a picture I took of my monitor, I'm sure yours is doing the same thing, but is pink. If so, I think it's just gone bad.

Well looks to bright to see, because of my pinkish tint, but I turned my computer on just a few minutes ago and it was completely fine, then 2 minutes later it suddenly turned pink again.:grumpy:

Edit* Now I can see, mine is exactly like that but with pink, and just a few minutes ago, it fixed itself, Yay, I'm so happy now, but I'm hoping it won't do that again. Thanks for all the help guys.:)👍

I'm sorry to break the news to ya, but if it's just like mine was, it's going to happen again. There's no getting around it. It might act up every so often, but it will continue to do that. Sometimes mine won't do that, and sometimes it will. Give it time, it'll get progressively worse, so don't keep that new monitor out of mind. đź’ˇ

Alright, thanks for the advice, I'm keeping my eye on that monitor. Wait, is there anyway this can be fixed, if I bring it to an electronic repair shop?

I am not sure if it would be worth it to bring it to a repair shop. They will charge you like $40 to check it out, and if you need to replace, they are going to charge you pretty good for the parts. So unless you have a warranty, I don't know about doing that.

But hell, if you end up doing that, tell me what they say, maybe if the tube isn't burnt or worn, they can fix it. That'd give me some ideas for mine.

I took an electronics course in college, but I never dealt with monitors, so if I were to open this sucker up, I have no idea what i'd be looking at.

Best of luck with that.

High voltage stuff in there...be careful. (I've opened a few up and never got seriously shocked, so you'll probably be fine, but just to be safe...)

You my friend have dry solder joints in your monitor, the green colour path has become intermittent (red + blue = magenta), That if it occurs as a bright pink. If its dull then it could be something else to do with the green path. Some times if the plugs are loose thats also a problem but youve already fiddled with that.

In most cases when you have a intermittent problem like this its due to solder joints.

Take it to someone for repairs it shouldnt be a problem, dont fiddle around with it your self and if you do make sure you discharge it first.
