Holy crap, 707
I see your 707, and raise you the 3,240 that was on the pc my dad gave me. It was 3 years old at the time, and had never once been restored/reinstalled/checked.

I suggest my setup:

- Mozilla Firefox
- Mozilla Thunderbird
- Zone Alarm Security Suite (Everything you need. So powerful... When sat up really precisely, you got real control of your internet.)
- NO P2P !!!!!! (We'll never say it enough, P2P's are killing machines. If you want downloaded music, go on IRC, like Undernet there is tons of Warez Bots to download songs. No bull**** and it's all music, movies, sometimes games and porno movies... NO VIRUSES IF YOU USE YOUR HEAD !!!)
- Virus/Spyware Scan every Thursday during WWE Smackdown! :)
- Format every christmas

Also, people, try to stay away from porn websites, they carry viruses and spywares too. :)

EDIT: Oh forgot, disks cleaning from useless programs and files once a month. Keep your trashes at the dump, not in your pc.

Or take a shortcut and head over to the Ubuntu or Fedora website and download their latest release:dopey: Voila! No spyware!

Just kidding, those are some good suggestions. Almost the same as my Windows setup, except I use Windows Defender and I format more often(I just like the fresh-install feel of XP) I'm using Windows less and less though, and currently I don't have any computers with Windows running. I have my Windows CD though and will probably install once school starts back up.

i recently started using this http://www.prevx.com/

it can remove spyware that other popular programs cant. adaware and spybot couldnt get rid of a problem i had but prevx could :)

i also use ccleaner for registry repairs and cleaning cache.
