You won't win this race in B-spec, the race is too short and the cars too evenly matched.

Perhaps if you add everything - max hp, min weight, R5s and wing you might be able to win but I would be surprised. With that setup an a-spec will should only take a couple of minutes anyway.

Moloch is right. I don't see how Bob can win this race for you.

The AI Speedsters are completely maxed out. Notice how you always get 200 points, no matter how much you do to your car? They're definitely on R5 supersoft tires. I could not win a single event with R3 tires. I had to use R4, and even went to R5 for one race.

I've seen it opined that the non-turbo Speedster may be faster. That's what I used, with max NA power on most of the events, but not all. I bought every option you can get for my Speedster, including all the lightening options and the Increase Rididity option. The only thing I didn't add was a wing.

I also tweaked the suspension:

SR 7.7 / 8.5
RH 90 / 95
SB 5 / 7
SR 6 / 7
C 2.5 / 1.5
T 0 / 0
St 4 / 4

Brake Balance 2 / 4
ASM 0 / 0
TCS 3
LSD 7 / 25 / 17

EDIT - Transmission settings: Final drive to 5.500, Autoset to 25, then to 1 and leave it, then adjust the final for each track. You want to redline in sixth at the end of the longest straight on each track.

The LSD settings made a big difference.

Even with all of the above, its still a battle. To me this is one of the best events in the game.

Now that I've got my Calibra, I'll come back to the Speedster race to see how much I can de-tune my car and still win.

I won Midfield and Seattle on Bspec,

Silver and Bronze on Autumn and Sears point

Can plz you share your final gears and LSD settings for your speedster?

I am having troubling winning Suzuka with the Speedster. The 340bhp AI catches up to me in the straightaways and bumps me off-course. :nervous:

I used the Tranny Trick: Final drive to 5.500, Autoset to 25, then to 1 and leave it, then adjust the final for each track.

Whats the "tranny trick", and what dose it do? I have heard of this trick, but I never understood what it actually did.

I was doing this race just today...it was actually pretty challenging. I had to modify my car a lot. On 2 different races I would get ahead, and get a little nervious, and then mess up, and loose! If I tried harder though, I could do it.
Anyway, about that tranny trick...

...Anyway, about that tranny trick...

That old blurb above was copied and pasted. I've edited it. The "Tranny Trick" worked in GT3, exploiting a coding anomaly to give you better acceleration. However, as "rk" pointed out in this thread, it doesn't work in GT4:

To adjust your gears, either use the Autoset only, or set it at "1" and adjust the final drive. I like using the final because it seems that you can be a little more precise, but that's just my opinion. Your mileage may vary.

Uhhhh...I didn't try adjusting the final drive gears for those races. I just bought literally everything for the Speedster, and turned the NOS up to 60, and fine tuned the suspension - I lowered it all the way, turned the shock absorbers up, and the spring rate, and I also turned the last thing in the suspension to 5. I bought a spoiler, and set th downforce to
5-5, and I bought R-4 tires. The tires made a world of difference! Dont forget the roll cage.

You don't NEED to use R4 tires, don't need a wing, and don't need the rollcage. Nor is nitrous 100% necessary, although it's very useful. These races can all be won in A-spec with S3 tires and full engine/suspension/transmission mods. I won them all on my first try. Patience is the key, as you can't make too many mistakes and still pull out a win.

Yea, this is true; however, I was just stating that I chose to leave the transmission stock, and do some other mods instead, which made the race a lot eaiser (I only did this for some of the harder races). I am not professional at GT4, so this helped me a lot! lol

I still need to know the gear ratios for the three tracks I am stuck in. I can lead in Suzuka but I need to right transmission setting and ratios so the AIs dont catch up to me in the straightaways.
